Title: The Beauty is in the Details
Description: Guy and Arraka

Guy - June 5, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
Guy knocked softly at the door to what had become the Lady Arraka's office. They had both been too exhausted after the events with those who should not be named to appropriately handle the apparent hitch Arraka had created. He paused briefly before opening the door and bowing to her, "Good evening Lady Arraka. I do not mean to disturb what I am positive is a busy night, but I believe we may have need of parley, to, what is the phrase, clear the air between us. May I come in?"

The Florentine vampire took in the appearance before him. She appeared outwardly fine, but the flame of her power flickered, and the eyes. The eyes she could not hide and they told the true story of her state. He softly stretched a line of power to her and ran it over her to attract her attention to him.

Arraka - June 5, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
The raised ink that her Bella had brought to the attention of the servants had made a large difference in her productivity. While anyone watching her would have thought she was reading her fingers glided delicately over the paper picking up the slight ridges of letters with her honed senses. It was something that she had been working on every since she found that her sight was not coming completely back. Her other four sense were being sharpened to points that she could not remember witch such clarity. Even the sense of the other vampires was starting to come clearer but that could simply be the connection with the city and the blood bond that she had shared with them all. Though one still did not take the oath and that still set oddly with her. Could he be planning on making a bid for the city before she had even secured it against outside threats or would he try to strike while the iron was hot and take it before they could all recover? Time would tell but she kept though thoughts away from her face and body as she felt him just outside the door.

The air pressure changed slightly and the hair on the edge of her neck felt the door swining and letting in the different temperature of air from the hall way. She did not have the usual scarf around her eyes and instead before he even spoke turned the attention of her fully dead eyes on him. It was a reminder in that moment of what she did for them all so that they could all continue living and not be under the curse of pain from the Harlequin. Even though he did not ask if he could enter and instead just came in she decided to subtly remind him of that oversight, “You may enter Galeno and as you said every night is busy. There is always something that requires the Mistress of the City’s attention, something I am sure you realize.” Moving the papers to one side she moved her hand to where she knew the chairs were resting.

“Have a seat Galeno, and yes I have been meaning to ask you within the walls of my office for some time but the city needed me and my people within my city require my attention before anything else.” She could not help but feel the tendril of power and although she did not have much to offer resistance to it she could at the very least put on a good show for a limited time. With a quick thread like line of her power she swiped his away not needing the heralding it would cause, “Now that you have asked for this meeting, what can the city of Miami do for you Galeno.”

Guy - June 5, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Guy shook his head at Arraka as she shrugged his tendril off. He hadn't come to have a power contest with her. If that was the point, he'd have just killed her and been done with it. He sat down across from her and studied her for a moment, intentionally drawing out the time looking to see if she was offering a facade or had really recovered somewhat. His spies were indicating that they couldn't obtain information. She was being very secluded. Finally he sighed, "I believe you mistook my words previously to mean something they did not. My words were meant to contain a threat to the mask, not to you"

He leaned back, "I returned to Vienna because my master wished to warn and arm me for the coming of those that did and the help the prior mistress be rid of them, because it suits him for the Americas to operate independent of Europe. Unfortunately she ran so I'm left to do as best I can. Know that my loyalty is to the city itself, not its Master. If you will accept that, then my power and ability is at yours to direct for as long as you hold the city and do what is best for it."

Arraka - June 5, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
She noticed the slight sigh in his words but knew how resourceful the other vampire could be so said nothing and did not react to it as she simply listened. Arraka tilted her head slightly as he spoke like she was still able to see him although her eyes had been long sense clouded over. “Perhaps I did, tension was running high with everyone that night so it would be easy for any of us to misunderstand someone. That is precisely why you are still staying within my house and my city. I am willing to listen though and hear your explanation of such words. I will not jump to conclusions and loose a potential ally within you Galeno. “

She heard the slight creak of the chair and knew that he leaned back in it. Mirroring his relaxations he did to letting the top of her back touch on the leather of her chair. Though she did not relax completely it was enough that the meeting would be able to take a slight change in atmosphere while they spoke. “It appears that both you and your Mistress misjudged the former ruler of this city, though if what you say is true then even though your loyalty is to this city that also means your loyalty would be divided Galeno. Tell me this which would win if My city was in danger and your Master wanted it to be destroyed. That is what I am more interested in, you are either my Allay, my guest, or my enemy. Whichever you chose I find that actions speak louder.”

She moved a piece of paper back moving her darkened orbs over to it. She had read this one all ready so the need to drag her fingers over the edge of the ink would not be required. Silence many times was more pressure then talking. She had no need to fill the void and she could not help or wonder if he would speak first within it.

Guy - June 12, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
Guy tilted his head at Arraka. It appeared she was attempting to make a shown in front of him, which wasn't a particularly good sign, especially considering that for all her show, she couldn't completely hide what was going on with her. Her reactions indicated that she could perceive his movements, but he knew that she couldn't see him well, if at all, else why would all the ink have been replaced with a type of raised ink. Additionally, the level of secrecy that surrounded her didn't sit well. She had removed the mask from the city, but had she spent too much of herself to do it?

Deciding he wouldn't break the silence she was giving. Especially not when action could indeed speak. He had recovered he crest he had given Darla and he had never delivered the letter that accompanied it, considering she hadn't seemed interested to know it's contents. Quietly he placed both of them on the table before her, and, in a calculated move, also laid out an additional copy of the letter he had carefully maid in his own elegant slant with ink he had acquired from one of the servants. If she could read the original, then either she had spies good enough to penetrate his own quarters, an unlikely feat considering the amount of time he had spent in them since she had risen to power, or he would simply have to ask why she replaced the ink.

Arraka - June 19, 2008 03:07 AM (GMT)
The other vampire did not break the silence first which if she had been any other then the Mistress of the city of Miami then she would have let the petty game of silence drag on. He had refused to answer her direct questioning which did not sit well with her at all. If the answers continued to fail to come he and by proxy his mistress would be exiled from this city and in the end he would have failed the one that he called mistress and Arraka imagined that she would not take it well. He moved and settled two pieces of paper on her desk as she felt the air stir and brush against her as they settled.

It did not matter what exactly they said for the moment they held no interest to her and her immediate desires. Words on paper meant nothing right now in this meeting and she intended to show him just that. Without saying a word she picked up both of the papers and placed them both unceremoniously at the bottom of the in box. Deciding to be the first one to speak after the silence dragged on her voice held the crystalline quality that all that were trained by the Master Anlui himself. “If that is all you have to say for yourself Galeno, I will have the servants begin packing your rooms. I have arranged suitable transportation for one of your stature back to Venice in the morning. I shall inform your Master that your duties are not required in my city.”

She had silently arranged the most disrespectful flight transportation for Galeno as possible. It would be a cargo plane that she was assured that only three of the four props would work and that they would not even stop completely in the city. They would fly over the city while an apprentice packed the parasol that would be deployed. It would be fitting way to deliver him back to his Master something that Arraka had mused over while covertly making the plans.

Guy - June 29, 2008 03:16 AM (GMT)
Guy looked at the woman before him. He let out his breath and focused the entirety of his mental energy into a single point on her. With great care he visualized opening that point into a hand that surrounded her mind, carefully selecting the spot he visualized as controlling her ties to other vampires and singled out the thread of a single blood oath, pulling it taut, meaning to imply that he could, indeed, sever the connection at a whim. He smiled icily at the Mistress, "If there is any battle here, it is because you make it so, not the other way around. Words are all you are offered from me and any of my kind, for it is all we can give. I am already non grata before the council for siding against their wrath."

The vampire relaxed his hold upon her and formed his energy into a wall of darkness, just incase she decided to be foolish. "You place too much stock in the form of actions, You felt how much value I palce on a blood oath, but I do not wish to be duplicitous with you. The rough terms of my staying here are as follows: for one century I will help you secure your power base in any capacity you see fit. This will also serve to give the appearance that my master is displeased with me, and friendly with you. There are further longer term goals and proposals outline to you, but since you deign to foolishly ignore communication inf favor of unecessary sabre rattling, it should serve for now."
