Personality description: At least a paragraph, try to include character's views on life, and just over all personality.
He has lived a long time and seen a lot of things so he has formed his own opinions based on what he has experienced. He dislikes watching those who rule be arrogant and cruel for no reason though he dislikes seeing those rule who have no clue what they are doing just as badly. While he tries to be compassionate, he isn't naive enough to think that will always work. He can be as cold and heartless as he is kind given the situation. Jarrod sees life as something that can be good or bad depending on how one chooses to see and react to the situations around them. He tries to have an optimistic outlook because he feels that fearing the worst will do nothing but make the situation all that much worse.

History: From birth to now...at least 4 paragraphs.
Jarrod was born during the first fall of the Roman Empire in the kingdom of Aksum in Ethopia to a merchant family. His childhood was filled with laughter and tears. He was brought up to believe in God and serve him. That would eventually cause him grief as he would discover that he couldn't follow everything he was taught completely. His preference for liking men and women would see to that.
In 438, years after settling himself in his own home, he gave refuge one night to a stranger claiming to be lost and in need of shelter for a few days as his belief demanded kindness to others. Little did he know that the male he invited into his home was a creature of the night, a vampire. He settled the stranger into his own room and began to go about his routine. When he checked on the status of his “companion” he found more than he bargained for as the male had sent by the Earthmover to recruit new soldiers for use in some petty council matter.. The following night was a nightmare that still haunts him from time-to-time.
It would take him decades to come to terms with what he had now become though centuries would pass before he found the strength to leave on his own. The years leading up to his departure he would rather forget as they were filled with horrors he refused to speak about. Those years taught him what he would not become, what he would not do to others who were weaker than himself.
Kingdoms rose and fell and Jarrod changed enough with the passing years. He was not so stuck in his own time that he couldn't broaden his horizons. Literature called to him as did the arts and he immersed himself in it. He felt that there was no excuse for naivety about the times one was living in.
He finally chose the lands upon which he would settle. They were far enough away from the Master he had only met a few times and the one who had made him that he was sue he would be left to himself. It was a land that, at the beginning, treated those of his color like they were lesser but times changed and with it, so did the ideals of many. This country was growing, changing, and moving in a direction that Jarrod liked so he stayed.
He may not have found the specific part of the United States to call his home yet, but he was certain that some part of this land would finally make him feel at peace. Maybe some state where he wasn't yet obligated to Blood Oath to a Master would be best. He would eventually find said place. For now, he was content to wander the country and see what it was he could learn.
Things took a turn for the worse when the Sourde de Sang of his line, the male he had tried so hard to avoid, was brought low by a Necromancer of incredible power and her vampire master. He lost a great bit of the power he had now able only to make the earth shake close range instead of the widespread damage he could once due if he so desired. Part of him still hopes that as time moves on, those abilities will return though he prefers the lessening in power as he is not quite ready to find out if the religion he was taught was correct and he was indeed damned.
Less powerful than before but no less a Master, Jarrod continued his search through the United States favoring the more liberal and tolerant Masters and searched for somewhere that would call to him. Somewhere that he was needed. He knew he would find it, he just had to keep searching.
Writing Sample: He had made a lot of mistakes in his life, one he would regret for as long as he was a vampire, and he vowed that he wouldn't do it again. He had been naive at the time and possibly quite stupid; two qualities he had hoped had faded over the years. He hoped a lot about him had faded over the years.
He walked slowly from where he'd landed and proceeded with caution as he was new to this particular city. He'd come as he had gone to many others to check it out. However, there was something about this one that screamed a need for help. The air was thick with a familiar power and he could only wonder who had angered the Harlequin into appearing.
“Jarrod,” he muttered, his voice a deep rumble, “Somehow, I think you are about to add mistake number two to the list of those you don't ever want to make again.” However, it wasn't enough to make him leave. He couldn't sense a lot of master level vampires close by and wondered at that. If there was something bad happening in Miami surely they needed some fire power. While he had no intentions of getting involved in something that might kill him, it didn't hurt to look into what was going on here. Who knew...maybe he'd like the city. Though that hinged on whether or not there WAS a city when all was said and done.
Now all he had to do was to try and find out who was currently in charge and get granted the permission needed to stay here...if there was anyone left in charge of the city. He'd seen that happen far too many times when someone angered the Harlequin though the streets were far too quiet for that to be the case. Obviously mass chaos hadn't broken out yet so they weren't too bad off..yet being the key term.
And the rest:Anything else? No.
