Physical description: A tall dark and handsome man at first glance, Marius is 6’3” with a pale olive complexion most Eastern Europeans have. His hair is always worn long enjoying the feel of it against his face when the strands fall forward. It is also an ally when he hides his face. His build is lean and muscular, carved from days of labor on the farm he grew up on. Usually he is wearing Armani suits when out in public never one to let down a crowd, always in black and white, he enjoys the formality it brings to an occasion. His eyes are the most striking of his appearance, any who get to look into them say they sparkle like emeralds and only become more vibrant as he uses power.

Likes: Dancing, structure, fear/terror caused in others (even more so if it’s by his hand), women
Dislikes: Being manipulated although in vampire politics it happens often, chaos unless caused by him, most modern music
Fears: Sunlight of course, Nemhain even though he has the highest respect for his Mistress he is not dumb enough to not fear her and all she can do.
Nervous habits: None he knows of, possibly becoming more ‘undead’ - not as human making some uncomfortable

Personality description: At least a paragraph, try to include character's views on life, and just over all personality.
Marius appears to be nothing but a gentleman, at least to the public. His servants in his home in Eastern Europe knew this to be one of his facades, for the real Marius struck fear into the hearts of many. His outlook is very bleak for mankind, they are there for few purposes and one is to sustain his kind. An elitist may be a good word to describe Marius for he believes himself to be above many and below very few – mostly his Soure de Sang and the Vampire Council.

History: From birth to now...at least 4 paragraphs.
Marius was born at the end of a harsh winter in Mikhaylovgrad, Bulgaria, near Serbia. His mother gave birth to him in the middle of the night. He was their first and only child. They felt blessed for they were an older couple who never thought they would have any children at all. Marius came into their lives and all was well. He helped on the farm with the sheep his father bred and sold. He led a simple life growing up on his parent’s farmstead. His attention soon turned from sheep and vegetable patches to a fair young maiden Ivana. The town had always been superstitious especially of She who Shall not be Named, being blamed for many of the disappearances not only in Mikhaylovgrad, but all over Europe. His father always told him he had a talent for people, many visited their home and settled near them.

Marius quickly dismissed these as folk tales of the old ways and did not pay much attention to them. In fact his attention was not given to anyone except Ivana. Sadness soon crept into the young man’s heart as his parents passed away, his father first, leaving him the man of the house for 2 months until he became the sole owner when his mother passed away. Losing the two rocks in his life within such a small time frame took a toll on Marius. Ivana took notice and they spent more and more time together, he trying to balance of the homestead as well as courting the 3 years younger Ivana. Spring came and before the planting season took full swing, Ivana became his wife bringing life back into the house.

Marius continued his work in the community, growing the small town into a thriving city. He was the center for their town, always going to him with problems with each other, the land, or wildlife. Ivana helped, always welcoming people into their home, teaching many of the children from other families. Marius knew she would make a great mother one day, though he didn’t know the day would come so soon.

Marius did not think he could be happier until he found out he was to be a father. Soon a bundle of joy they named Ana came into their lives. Yes life was well for him, his family, and their farm. Simple people living simple lives. Ana grew up learning about animals and going between shadowing her father and mother doing the daily chores. She was now 11 and finding her own way in the world. Ivana, needing to go to town for some supplies, took Ana to see more than just the few farms near theirs. As Marius waved goodbye to the two women in his lives as they made their way on horseback to the city proper before getting back to his daily chores. The ride was an hour there and another back, they should have been back by nightfall, but as the sun began to set Marius watched the road with no sight of them.

Going to get his horse to follow their trail, he was mere moments from home when he found a grizzly scene. Both the horses in which his daughter and wife road on were lying dead, Marius jumped off in a frenzy of worry, despair, and anger. No they weren’t there; he thought a wave of relief quickly followed by worry once again. He didn’t know where they were. A voice called out to him from the dark, “I know where they are…you want to save them, don’t you?” The voice was sweet and comforting, lulling in Marius. “Yes! Who are you?! Where did you take them? Answer me!” he shouted to the air.

A soft cackle echoed through his mind, “Come and save them if you can…follow my voice.” Marius was in no state to argue with this unseen woman and quickly urged his horse forward until about 50 yards from a stone tower where the horse would go no further. Leaving him near a tree a cautious Marius walked to the door and knocked before entering. A beautiful blonde woman descended the stairs to greet him. No it was not his Ivana, another woman. “Who are you?” he asked brazen and bold with anger at his wife and child still missing. “I am the things of nightmares, the one who no one will even dare to utter my name.” The realization that she was not a folk tale took its toll on Marius, but quickly regaining his composure he did not look into her eyes. “You…where is Ivana, where is Ana?!” The laugh that felt like sandpaper grinding on his skin flowed through the room. “Ah your dear wife and child? They are being…helped to their quarters. Do not worry over them my dear Marius, for I have been watching you. You are a man of decent quality who has brains and brawn. Do you wish to spare them Marius, for you have heard the things I could do to them.”

She was a vampire, the stories said that much, but he did not know what she was capable of, but he would sacrifice himself before letting any harm befall Ivana or Ana. “I will take their place if you let me” he said with such defeat in his voice Nemhain gave a genuine laugh of pleasure form it. “Then you shall be mine.” Nemhain walked him down into a small dark room and there he saw both his wife and daughter shackled to the walls. She forced the door closed right in front of his face, Marius clamored at the door but it was held steady with iron. Turning from the door with tears on his face she looked him in an adjoining room so he could see his family but not touch them.

As he stayed in the room he heard and saw his wife and daughter be tortured to death, Nemhain taking the time feeding from them, all three of them, for Marius was scared as well for them. At the end of the week they had died and Marius was now a hers, a vampire, an immortal doomed to live his life for her. The brilliance of Nemhain is the ability to create terror and scenes in a person’s mind they believe happened. Ivana and Ana were truly at home wondering where Marius had left to, everything he saw was apart of her calculated plan. Plus a man with nothing to live for becomes the undead much easier.

Without a will to live, Marius did not fight being turned into vampire. A large part of him withered away as he began to rise at night and bend to the will of Nemhain. He had no fear of speaking her name though not many of her vampires had the same gall to do so. He was clay in the vampire's hands, being molded to fit her need. He started off learning exactly how she fed besides blood. His torture lasted year upon years, perhaps even a decade or so. The rest of his humanity, what little was left after 'seeing' his wife and child die powerless to help them, quickly evaporated as the first days passed. Apparently Nemhain could rise earlier than he thought, she was also able to walk in sunlight, a frightening prospect used on him as torture as well.

When he was fully broken and in her control, she set forth her plan, educating Marius, sending him all over Europe to be as well rounded as any noble or King in the whole of Europe. Marius, being a simple farm peasant had much to learn, but he had a knack for languages and quickly learned English, Greek, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian (which was quickly learned because it was close to Bulgarian), Dutch, German, and Arabic over the course of his schooling in not only human history, but vampire history, customs and politics.

Marius had grown quickly in power during his travels. When he returned to Nemhain, now residing in Ireland, he had the knowledge of a scholar and still his personality would find him people to feed from throughout his trip. Lulling such nice people into a false sense of security and he would feed from them, either by blood or pushing his limits with causing stirrings of terror in them.

She had observed him from during his humanity growing the small town into a growing city, being the go between for feuds between families, and when called for being the law and order. Yes he was the one she needed to grow more. She sent for him as rested in her bedroom, a long flowing white gown spread across her bed as she laid waiting patiently. Knocking before he entered, Marius awaited a welcome from his Mistress. When he received it, he walked in, knelt at the foot of her bed and greeted her cordially. "Marius, you have known me to long to use such formalities with me. Come sit" Nemhain patted the bed near her and he went. "I have a position for you Marius, you have the qualities needed."

With that line, his position with Nemhain changed. He was now her recruiter. Where many tried anything to escape her grasp, Marius relished in it, learning more and more about his control of causing visions in a person to see what they feared the most to the art of torturing humans and vampires to the edge of death or insanity without crossing the line until it was his choice. He enjoyed his life by her side, until she was stolen from him and locked away in a tower where she could not terrorize anymore.

Writing Sample: a sample post from this characters point of view.
America, the land he had been to seldomly, feeling much more at home in Europe. They were pioneers though, granting rights to people like himself. His chartered jet had landed, it was 1 AM, perfect timing to not have to worry about the sun. Yes his Mistress had the power to walk in sunlight, but he never ventured out during the day, not able to even entertain the idea he had gotten that strength from her. No, it was the moon that was his companion. They had flown into a small airport a few hours from Miami. He wanted to make sure his correspondence from Bulgaria had reached the Mistress Strigoi before he even attempted to set foot in Miami.

The black Lexus pulled up as he unbutton his black sport coat and slipped into the car as the door opened for him. Speaking to him in Bulgarian, what he always addressed his staff in, "Mistress Strigoi received my letter." It was not a question but a statement of fact, if the driver knew what was best for him. "Yes Mr. Marius, she has." "Good. Then I do not see any problems with the Mistress of Miami." Marius had done careful research into where he would call home after Nemhain was imprisoned. He looked into many cities, but none had quite the draw on him that Miami did. Plus the Mistress used to live in Romania, that practically made them family.

"We shall not impede on her tonight. I am sure she already knows of my arrival not only through my letter, but the purchasing of my home and the fact we are entering her territory." The driver knew he was not addressing him, just merely speaking outloud. "I am looking forward to seeing Mistress Strigoi, something to remind me of Eastern Europe right here in Miami."

And the rest:
Anything else? None
