Hello Everyone
I noticed this area is not being ued much so Id thought I post this info
This area is for asking general membership questions or concerns regarding disease.I realize that Kim is doing a speciality area but some of you may be unsure about responding to questions posted in those areas. So this is more for open discussion whereas with Kims area you ask her a specific question!
Derek
If you guys dont think you need this area then Ill shut er down and you can just ask Kim Let me know your thoughts
Derek
I think it's a little confusing to have two different areas for diseases. If I had a question, I'd like Kim's response as well as any one else who may have experience with the particular problem.
If a question is asked in Kim's forum, the general members who might be of help can also reply there, right? Or will we get yelled at by Kim. Boo Hooo
Aura
I dont think Kim would be upset. But I also dont want members to feel like they cant post in an area either.Ill keep monitoring this and see.Klaus has brought it to my attention that we have too many duplicate areas. However In my experience in other forums there are two areas on them as well.Such as Tropheus with Klaus and they had a tang area as well.
Now what I did was put in addition catagories in those general discussion areas so that in the future it will be easier for members to look up something
ie A Mbuna question,A member can just go to the Malawi area go under Mbuna and search only Mbuna questions etc.Instead of having to go through a 1000 hap and peacock questions as well
Ill see how others feel and we may need to make adjustments
Derek
Derek, this is the same problem I pmed you about. Members get confused and mods have additional work. One area for each subject is much easier for everybody. cheers
I was confused when I saw the two different areas also. As a member, I would prefer to find all the health info. in one area.
If the font doesn't get larger, I won't be able to read anyone's posts, anyway, so it won't really matter. (I've got my face inches from the monitor right now in an effort to make sure I don't have any typos!)
Derek, all of us have our "specialty areas", but we're all kind of all over the place. Some of us don't get on here as regular as others, so IMO, it's fine for anyone of us to step in and give a semi-sane response if someone is in need of help. Alot of times when someones posts a question about health on the forums, it's really an emergency, and any of us may have experience in that particular situation.
I don't see the need for two different sections for anything, really, nor does my name need to be on anything in particular. To be perfectly honest, I like to deal with something other than white stringy poop every once in awhile!
Anyway, I think we've got too many folders, and our threads are getting too spread out.
Kim
