Title: Odd Keyhole Behavior

Joelio - June 21, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
Last night, one of my keyholes was cleaning a laying site. The other keyhole would come over, but that one did not have the colors, or showing its tube. THus, the one cleaning the site would chase it away. So basically, I had a female keyhole laying eggs then eating them right away, by herself! It is very strange. I was excited because I thought maybe the other was a male and i would see some breeding, but alas, no. What's your guy's take on it?

I gather from your post that you don't know if you have a pair or not.

How many keyholes do you have ?
How old are they ?

It might easily happen that a young and inexperienced female will do that.

They are quite young still Klaus. There are two. I know one is a female, but no clue what the other one is. I thought I saw the papillae of the other one, and it looked male. I am sure she is just really unexperienced.

You might have 2 girls Joel. But could still be that they are too young to know what thy are doing...patience my friend.
