Title: My plastic plant for the fry tank

Pseudospecialops - September 2, 2007 08:20 AM (GMT)
Somewhere someone asked me what was the plastic plant I liked so much as the hiding place for fry. But I didn;t have any packages to look at till I bought more today.

The package says "Fancyplants SeaGarden" and the type is Caulerpa verticellata. Petco has them on Buy 2 Get 1 free right now.

These have a heavy bottom and will stay on the bottom without being anchored. I put several of them in the fry tank and their low-spreading branches interlace, creating great hiding spaces.

Hope this helps!

We've had some of the "Fancyplants Seagarden" in the past, and I really like them as well. You can find them in alot of different colours up here, some with the heavier anchors on them and some with suction cups, to hang like vines on the tank walls.

Just don't do what I recently did...We had some cuttings off of our live plants and just threw them in our little 5G that sits on the nightstand in the bedroom, then I had the bright idea to add some White top fry...The plants and fry are doing great, but I can't figure out how to remove the little ones without tearing the tank all apart!

Definitely not one of my "brighter" moments!

I have a few "Fancyplants" as well. They come in a nice variety. I'll have to check that one out, Pseudo. Mine are really tall and I also have the suction cup type.

Kim, I did the same thing with some of my live plants in the fry tank. I had to take them up and was I surprised to see that the roots are bigger and healthier looking than the rest of the plant.
