Title: Java fern propagation

I know plants aren't exactly tank equipment, but I couldn't figure out where to post this - it doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Hmmmm Please move it if need be.

My question is about these growths on the leaf of the java fern. Should I just let this go like this or do these need to be removed and planted or do I need to maneuver that leaf down so the roots have something to attach themselves to? This is the tallest leaf on the plant - it just seems kind of weird to see those roots hanging up there.

With my brown thumb for aquatic plants, any help is appreciated.

Bless your heart...And the only person who has looked at the post yet is worse with plants than you are...

My demasoni ripped my java fern to shreds before I ever had that to happen. I haven't a clue, but if it's a root, I kind of want to bury it???

Congratulations to your Java Fern "babies" the Clap the Clap

Just leave it as it is Aura and let the little ones grow for a while. Java Fern does not need to be planted into the ground and will grow nicely even swimming on the surface. Good Job

Well you must be doing something right if you have babies!

Babies! Aquatic plant babies - this is a new one for me! Gimme an A!

Kim, those roots did make me feel like I should somehow plant or let it attach to something.

Klaus, thank you for your help. I'll let it go like it is for awhile and hope they continue to grow. ohhh please ohh please

I tried to research a little on this type of propagation, but couldn't get any info on what to do with the babies.
