Thanks, Klaus. I just received my copy of Ad Koning's book, Back to Nature Guide to Tanganyika Cichlids, and now I want them all! Drooly The photos are just beautiful in the book, lots of different species variants are shown. I love the map of Lake Tanganyika with all the collection points. Last night I was showing the map to my husband saying, "The julie mboko comes from this part of the lake, and the tropheus mpulungu comes from way down there, and the brichardi kavala is from over here, and .......etc., etc. And look at those gorgeous featherfins, wouldn't you want some of those one day? Of course we'd have to devote a whole tank with nothing but sand in it to them, but they sure are pretty; remember we saw one of those at Monty's shop?"

Husband's response, "Uh-huh, yeah that one's nice. I'm hungry. Want to go out for sushi tonight?"

There are so many cool fish out there. Wish I had a fish room like you do, Klaus. Thanks for letting me know about a great book. Just the right amount of information in it. Ad gets right to the point with what you need to know.

Great thread, Kelly!

We don't have the Tang Back to Nature, but we do have the Malawi one, and I don't know how I ever kept fish without it. I really like "Enjoying Cichlids" as well - my copy is signed by Ad, we got them free through CF as moderators. I remember when we first got the Back to Nature Guide I took it with me everywhere, and just kept going through it and through it.

Pete and I have been adding to our library alot lately. A local chain store was bought out by Petsmart, and they put all their books on sale for 75% off, so we just went nuts. Unfortunately, they didn't have alot of cichlid books, but we did get an old Axelrod book, and a ton of saltwater books and freshwater encyclopaedia.

I really love having all that information at my fingertips!

Kim

Kelly, I'm glad you like the book. Even in the time of the Internet, books are still my favorite source of information and Ad Konings books are surely one of the best.

BTW, how was the sushi??? Cheers!!!

Sushi was great last night! We have this little Japanese place we go to, about two miles from home (that's the neat thing about California, everything you could want within a five mile radius of your home).

I agree that is a great book Kelly. I have been adding to my library quite a bit...the only problem is I want all the fish in them!
