Title: Inlecypris auropurpurea
Description: Lake Inle minnow

Currently, this is the only fish I am keeping. They are related to the pearl and zebra danios that are common in the hobby and are only found in the Lake Inle basin in Myanmar.

I don't expect the fish to get above 3" or so, and they are doing well in alkaline water of moderate hardness. Constantly on the move, they would likely make excellent dithers for smaller cichlids. They are prone to jumping, so a tight-fitting cover on the tank is a must.

My apologies in advance for the quality of the pictures. They do a poor job of showing the radiant red highlights this fish is known for.

Really cool looking fish, Trainer!

I like the coloration on them!

How many do you have in this tank?

Are you just keeping them or have you bred them before?

preacherboy, I have four in a 20L. I'd add another three or so if I could only find them locally.

Lisachromis, I am only keeping them at this point. I saw what I am assuming was pre-spawn activity but nothing ever came of it. I've been toying around with the idea of transforming their tank setup to something more suitable for breeding, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm hoping to make the change over the winter.
