Hello: Sorry I have not been posting lately, I'm not well, but getting better.......I've been strugellling with stop smoking with champix and got really sick, last night I had to go to emergency, I was very depressed, I'm slowly getting off the pill, but it will take a few weeks before I get back on track.

Anyway, I'm painting the fish room at the end of summer and need to transfer my oscars for a few days while I'm painting, I will put them in 3 different tank (small), do I need a filter and heater in each tank, or they should be fine without it. what do I do with my cycle water, and do I need to start all over with frewsh water and recyle again????

Please advise and thank you

PS I will be doing the same with my frontosa's.

#1 Great job on the process to quit smoking!I know its hard but trust me when I say it is THE BEST thing you'll ever do for yourself.I know because I quit 4 years ago.

It only gets better

#2 As far a moving your fish indeed the filters and heaters need to be put in whatever tank you are using if they are going to be moved for more than a hour or so.As far as the water goes well to avoid shock to the fish I would take 1/2 the water and put it in the new tank and then replace the rest with fresh declorinated water.

Hope this helps you and I cant wait to see some pictures of the new fishroom!!

I would have to agree with Derek . Your fish will need to have heat and filters .To do it the right way.

But in the past i have upgraded my fish room . And it took me 1 week to set it all up . Put my fish in tanks on the floor . And in each tank had air stone pumping air in each tank. And i was doing 5% water changes each day.

I also had 1 50gal drums with fresh declorinated water and 1 50gal drum with old tank water ready so when i got the room back up and running .I had some water to give the tanks some bio .So my fish didn't get stress out.

thanks guys, it's not that hard to set up. I will get 3 30 gallons and divide them (3 oscars). add a heater and a small filter. I may not take long to paint and reorganized the room.

Take care
