I know this guy can colour up better than this...

This is in "full throttle spawning mode"...

Do you think the yellow on his belly will come in even deeper as he matures?

Oh, and anyone needing fry from these guys, they are baby making machines...

That is one of his females behind him.

Anyone else have experience with these?

How big will he get, Larry? Full zebra size? He's probably 4 inches now...

One of these days I'm setting the car thermostat to 78 degrees and driving up to Ontario to swap fish with all the Canadian Cichlid Haven crew!

Hey, it's only 2,000 miles! Road trip!!! Wooo hoo!!

That would be really great, Don! But you might want to set that thermostat a little lower if you come in the summer time! We've had some real heat and humidity around here lately...I'd tell you how hot it is, but I haven't made the fahrenheit/celcius mind switch just yet! If I don't watch Buffalo news, I haven't a clue what the temp is!

I'm sure all the other Ontarians would agree that it would be great to have some visitors!

If I knew I could get through Customs with some of these fish, I would be glad to try it next time I come to Kentucky, then ship them once I get there...It's easy getting fish into Canada, but I'm afraid it would be a different story getting them into the US.

That's a nice looking male. Those have always had a place in my list of mbuna to keep.

Thanks! He looks better all the time. The yellow on his belly is starting to show most of the time rather than just when he's excited, and that really sets him off.
