I wasnt sure where to put this topic so if it's in the wrong place,,hey "preach",,will ya move it again? Giggly

My question is: when you re-scape your tank/tanks,,do you do it around the room.

What I mean is,,,do you try to match what you already have in the room. Make everything blend in? I know people use plants, rocks, gravle, wood, pottery ect.ect.ect. and they all come in different colours.

So before you re-scape the tank,,do you think about whether or not it'll blend in?

OR do you re-arrange the room around the tank/tanks?

example:
If you had blue carpet and white walls,,,do you use Red Gravel, purple plants, yellow castles, ect.ect.ect.? yikes

This question may only be for people with tanks in rooms,,,,,NOT "fish rooms".

Are you trying to bring up that old purple tank of mine??? blinky

I don't worry about the surroundings, just what goes in the tank. Everything in the tank, including background, plant colours, etc. must match.

I used to like some of the coloured gravels, but now I prefer the more natural look in substrate, whether it be neutral shades of gravel or sand.

But we all know I've had lots of weird looking backgrounds...Those I tend to match to the fish that are going to be in the tank!

Normally, I don't, but the tank I have now is the first to go in the living room. The lava rocks are the same color as our burgundy couches and the pebbles match the carpet and curtains and the green plants match some other stuff in the room.

I normally don't either, but I do have a small tank that I put an oriental pagoda into because the room is full of things from Japan.

Well I didn't try it (I don't think) but the 90 gallon and shrimp tank are in the dining room which has a large vine plant wrapped around the room and there is plants all over my tanks. Hmmmm

When I decorate my tanks, I just try to make sure the tank and stand
match the room they are in.

I like oak in a traditional decor and I like black in a contemporary setting.
