Title: Size when fry can go in with adults?

My Lab. Hongi adults are a M/F pair who have spawned 3 times for me since I found them hollow-bellied in an LFS. They have both stayed in the 3.5" range of size, not growing that much the last year. The male is my CH avatar photo.

I'm hoping to build up a community of them with 2M, 6F or something like that.

You can see the species they're in with on my sig -- the Msobo and Acei males are about the same size as the Lab. Hongi.

The oldest offspring are now 1.5" to 2.5" and the dominant young male is really starting to color up.

At what size do you think I can safely integrate them with Mom, Dad and their companions?

In the case of the Yellow Labs and Albino Socolofi that live with my Demasoni, what size can their fry be when they join the tank?

Thanks!

Don

as long as your tank is big enough and you have places for the young guys to hide, through them in. through some food in one end of the tnk for the big guys to go to and add them at the other end so they have a bit of time to check out their surroundings incase they need to hide from a big guy. They should be fine. I mix 1.5" mbuna fry with 4-5" haps and peacocks and none of them disappear.

Yep as long as they can't fit in their mouths they are good to go in!
