Title: Starting a "NEW" tank?
Description: LISTEN UP

OK people,,I know this is a forum for aquascaping tanks, but I am going to hijack it by starting a "help me start a new tank"!!! Nanananaa
Heres my thing..
Most of the 'oldsters" know I have had a few tanks, but that had dwindled down to just ONE. Faint
OK,, (it's a 29 gallon) I have four Peacocks. Time for a change.
I am looking for some suggestions as to what I can put in there that are compatable & colorful. Any thoughts?
My favorites are Calvus or Comps. But unless someone can find me some rare ones,,,(I had almost all I can get my hands on).
It can be an all male show tank,,not looking to breed.
Winner gets a prize. Drooly

Are you asking what fish to add or rocks for aquascaping?
Confused geelite Hmmmm
P.S. have you been drinking again AP? Melafix fix!

Demasoni or saulosi, Neolamprologus leleupi with a julidochromis species, haplochromis ruby greens from lake victoria have gorgeous males. I think demasoni would be the most interesting from an activity standpoint I think a pair of leleupis and a pair of julis would look the best. Also, if wanting to go the SA route, a pair of rainbow cichlids would look nice.

I like the paracyps the best in smaller tanks!
P. Nigripinnis are awesome!
May be hard to find or maybe not!
Good luck!

demasoni in a 29 might be tempting fate a bit
better off going with saulosi- males are similar to demasoni, females are a nice orange. Aggression is much less than the demasoni

i have no personal exp. with demansoni's but some of my friends keep them. they say they are very very aggressive. i dont think there is alot of room in a 30" tank.
also, paracyps should be in a bigger tank.
i would go...
shellies+calvus or comps.
maybe some nice looking Signatus or Ornatipinnis. and a white calvus or black compressicep.

Doesn't Les have some fancy guppies he could let you have? They would look really cool with a pirate ship! With pink gravel! Nanananaa

Love the Calvus and Comps.
Edited to keep my posts counts down. Nanananaa
I was looking in the 'sponsor" forum and came across one of Darius' lists.
MINGIA, some things I found,,and may concider if someone in the states can get them: In no special order, and Tank Raised prefered. But not limited to WC. (IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT.)
1.Gold Head Comp. Kasanga
2.Mutondwe Comp.
3.Calvus "Black Pectoral"
4.Black Calvus 'Zaire'
5."Gold" Calvus
6.Aulonocranus Dewindti "Kigoma" (I've never seen these before,,,these are nice)
I guess I just cannot get away from the Calvus or Comp. itch huh???
This would be an all male show tank. So I'd be looking for the most mature male.
By the,,,no prizes for anybody yet!!!!!! Nanananaa
Edieted AGAIN:
I went to a couple FS this weekend looking for Calvus or Comps. Yeah I know,,,I was looking to start something "new", but I always end up going back to my old routes. Well take a guess what I found  absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!!!
Nothing but fry,,,and not even something 'different" that caught my eye.
This 'NEW' tank looks like it's going to take a little longer than I thought. dumb dumb
Anybody in the Ct. area have what I am looking for????????? ohhh please ohh please
