hey guys,
tonight i noticed a bunch of little white worm eel things swiming in my stingray tank. they range up to 0.5 inches each. do you know what they are, are they harmful and how do i kill them

Brad it sounds like planaria. It's not harmfull to your fish and from what I've heard they are caused by overfeeding.

If they are swim ming around in the water they could also be nematodes, but they are similar to planaria in cause and treatment.

I've had them in fry tanks that I used to overfeed. Cutting back on the amount of food and doing a few extra vacuums took care of it for me.

1/2 inch?????Those sound rather large to be nematodes or planaria that I have seen or experienced.

What are you feeding your rays??? I fed mine bloodworms. You sure you dont have a larvae from your food source growing in your water?
