Title: Adding other fish in Mbuna Tank

I would like to know if its possible to add eels, loaches, plecostomus and sharks in my 200 Gallon Mbuna tank and be able to breed my cichlids without any problems or missing babies??? I'm HOPEFULLY gonna be getting Pseudotropheus saulosi around 10 or 20 pcs.

I need to add some fish in my tank soon before i go roll eyes ...cant stand having an empty tank :Help!:

eels, not such a good choice, depending on type. they may eat your mbuna.
plecos are usually fine aslong as you put some sinking food for them the mbuna wont eat.
if your refering to clown loaches, no way! the eye spikes they have can be very harmful to the mbuna. the sharks, i assure your refering to like red tail blacks or balas, not 100% sure but they should be fine.

It's probably not recommended, but I've been able to keep loaches (botia morleti) with my mbuna. They were in the tank before the mbuna and have pretty much been ignored.

Bristlenose plecos also seem to do okay with mbuna. Mine were checked out thoroughly when I added them into the tank, but the cichlids seemed to lose interest quickly. I have had no luck with the regular common plecos, however. They were constantly picked on and eventually killed.

The eels i was thinking about have really small mouths(Macrognathus circumcinctus) , how can they eat the cichlids? maybe you mean the baby cichlids? ok so...only plecos then, but they get quite big i think.

Thanx Wiggle it just a little bit!

Geelite, that's the beauty (not really) of the bristlenose pleco.

They only reach about 5 -6 inches and they are great at keeping
algae levels down.
