Ok so we all know I have a empty tank....and we all know a empy tank is well JUST WRONG.
So off we went to the lfs. With my daughter. WHAT WAS I THINKING.
"Mommy can we please get those cute orange lil fat fish....PLLEEAASSEE....!!"
Yes yes I bought 2 blood parrots...omg what have I done. Faint
Kidding aside I still cant believe I got them...but they are kinda cute in a uber creepy kinda way.
Really bad pic the tank is alil cloudy from working in it.

Ok let me have it I can take the laughter and ridicule. Giggly

No laughter, no ridicule. Just sad hearted disappointment.
Maybe your next trip will yield a real fish that can eat those poor creatures, thus ending their misery.

Labama, I won't laugh at you - I got one a couple of weeks ago too! Blush
Of course, I didn't go out and buy mine. It was my daughter's fault too. Her friend needed to rehome it because it was dumped on her by a moving neighbor.
And yes, they are creepy looking and the one I have is dumber than a rock. dumb dumb

Mongo - January 30, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
LB, its okay when ya buy em cause someone ya love wants em. About a year after we were married...Mrs. Mongo went to the LFS with me and fell in love with these 5 multicolored orandas...yep the big...no swimming...pigs with scales...orandas. So we bought all 5 and brought them home. And we (really me) turned one of my 75 gallon tanks into a goldfish bowl that lasted for 4 years. By the time the remaining 4 went to the LFS, they were about the size of softballs and had about that level of brains. SO dont feeel bad...it happens to all of us at least once. Blush

I'm with Mongo. It's about love sometimes, and not about anything else.

labama and Aura, I predict you will both fall in love with these little outcasts!
They may not be the brightest bulbs in the box, but they do have alot of personality, and you gotta admit the colour is great once they transform fully! Giggly

I love that pic and the fish too, its really funny looking Giggly i was actually going to buy some in the future...nice Now this should be good!
Kim - February 1, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
geelite, we had some named "Oops" and "Uh Oh"...Very appropriate, I think!
These guys don't bother me in the least, and I don't see why people get on such a bandwagon about them! We know they are hybrids, they aren't misrepresented as anything other than hybrids...It's those "unknown" ones that I worry about!
Anyway, I hope you both enjoy yours as much as we enjoyed ours! And it must be a "daughter thing"...My daughter has a tank full of them right now!

Well just a update...Connie and Carla as we now call them are still alil shy. I didnt feed them for 2 days and on the 3rd day they came out and ate in front of me.
So now when I feed them they venture out of their cave and eat in front of me.
If I move to fast they high tail it back to the cave. May not have been the right way to get them to come out, but hey it worked.
When they get alil more used to me I will update with pictures.
