Hi,
I'm just wondering what other CH members feed and frequency of feedings of tiny fry to get the best growth rate. I currently have fry from Aulonocara maylandi, P.taiwanee reef and Copadichromis azureus. all are in the range of 3/8th's to 1/2 inch TL.
Right now I use NLS small 1mm pellets that I crush into almost powder form, some spurlina flake and some frozen brine shrimp. I alternate these foods throughout the week. I feed them twice a day.
thanks for you opinions
I don't know if this is best for growth rate, but I feed mine the NLS grow formula and will drop in a few 1mm pellets for them to pick at so they have something to work on for a while.
On occasion I will feed some frozen baby brine shrimp and I have some Hikari First Bites that is a very fine, powdery food. It's very low in fat, however, so I don't like to use it much.
I try to feed them three or four times a day in small amounts, decreasing to two times as they get older.
Frequent water changes really seems to help with the growth rate.
Ditto with what Aura said. Feed, feed & feed then Change, change & change your water! NLS growth & baby brine shrimp are the best!
