That is amazing! How many gallons does it hold? I love the light coloured background. I bet it makes for some great photography sessions with the fish!

I have another question for you plywood tank builders, but
what a surprise, heh? B)
Do you ever experience any leaks in your tanks? If so, how
do you repair them?
How is the glass inserted into the front of the tank?
What quality of plywood do you use; marine?
Thanks for your replies in advance! Bouncy

According to my calculations the tank holds 193 gals. The glass pushes up against a 3" by 3" frame that I cut out of one sheet of plywood. I used baltic plywood for the end pieces. Its got twice as many plys as regular plywood. It should grab the screws holding the front and back panels a little better and it is less likely to split. It is important to silicone the joints. The epoxy paint is very strong but also very brittle. I got the glass for free from a construction site so building the tank cost less than it would for most people, but the epoxy paint and the baltic plywod still cost over $200. If you are very good with tools, understand some building concepts and can get some free material, building a large plywood tank is worthwhile. Tanks under 100 gals are still relatively cheap when you consider the work invoilved in building your own. Steve.

Hi ya"ll. Thats hardly a fishroom in the background. I work in construction so 2x4's, and plywood are often free. Its just some homemade racks with Aquaclear filters. To me a fishroom has its own heating and ventilation system, some central filtration systems etc. My wife and I just found out she is holding for the first time!!! (pregnant), so it will be years before I set up a real fish room. As for pics, I am still waiting for someone to give me a lesson on picture management. Right now it takes me about an hour to post pics. That is why I had to rely on Klaus to post the pics. Thanks Klaus. Steve.
