Title: New and improved

cturner - December 10, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
Okay so I thought that I would show a new and improved updated tank that has my apistos in. The plants are really starting to take off, although I need to get some ottos to get rid of the hair algae on the leaves.

So here it is....

Beautiful tank, Rena! Drooly

I have always loved the look of about 10 cardinal or neon tetras
in a planted tank! the Clap

What do you have in the tank besides the apistos and tetras? Now this should be good!

There's some leopard cories in there but you can't see them! Yeah I like the tetras too but they are always hiding in the back! I'll have to pick up some more!

Fish count:
6 cardinal tetras
4 leopard cories
2 orange cacs
2 triple red cacs

Yes, it's very nice. Looks so tranquil.

I see you figured out how to keep your plants alive. Good Job

Thanks Klaus and Aura!

I have no idea why the plants are doing so well Aura. I just put them in the sand and they are doing the rest! I have about 1.5 watts per gallon and I don't add fertilizers.

they are doing well because they are cryptocornes, which only Kim and a few others can kill. Nanananaa There are many varities avialable.

As "the guy who can only raise water onions" I really respect that planted tank!

Nice shots!

Thank you! Yeah yodahorn I have no idea what they are off the top of my head! I would have to look at the tags that came with them!

Hey, yodahorn, my plants looked just like that for about a month!

Give Rena time, she may follow in Aura and my footsteps! Nanananaa

Looks great, Rena!

The real key to my planted tanks is being willing to plop down the bucks for replacement plants when the going gets tough!

You go, girl! Good Job

I just threw away a trash can full of sword plants last weekend!

I'm starting to think that some of those silk plants are pretty realistic looking, but I don't know what realistic is anymore unless it's turning brown!

despite luck with ferns, crypts, anubias, onions and aponogeton and vals I never had any luck with swords.
