The way everything has been going for me lately I would not be surprised if these were in fact sick... but I am hoping they are just getting used to the new tank etc.
I have then in for 3 days now... they are the biggest fish in the tank (share it with Enantiopus) and they dont eat and just started to move around today. They are also very slowly getting their colors back. They taste food and spit it out (I have tried flakes, nls, nls growth, frozen brine and nothing works so far. Because they dont eat my enantiopus just go nuts for all the food that hits the floor.
Is there a trick to get them to eat or should I just give them time and when they really hungry they will start to enjoy the good food??
They can be fussy but it's more than likely a bit of shock having been just moved. Cyps do not ship well. Give them some time but more importantly, top notch water quality. I've had a breeding group for a couple of years now and they can go off their foods and drop their colours in an instant. Mine will stop eating flaeks or pellets they had been eating for a while already.
Once they're comfortable again, you'll see colour and their feeding will pick up. Good Job
I totally agree with Gerry. I had the same experience several times and all went well after some hunger days. Good Job
