Title: What type of frotosa do i have ???
thiberts - November 27, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
I have always thought my fronts were burundi, but my male doesnt have the realy large hump like others i have seen (first pic) I am also begining to see color in there bodys. The male is close to 8" as you can tell by the 8" diameter pot, and the females are 5"-6"(second Pic). 2 years ago When I perchased my fronts at the LFS the kid working there sold them to me as convicts not frontosa, I had a good idea they were not convicts untill i did some looking around on the net and confermed it. The LFS has now gone out of buisness so I can't go back to find out what they realy are.
I also have a 7 stripe female, dont know how that happend ( the last pic in the top right) It's an older photo but its the only one I have of her.
Any help would be great ohhh please ohh please

they sure look like Burundi to me. Lots of info on these at Cichlid Forum and Cyphos.com
Maybe we have an expert here at Cichlid Haven who can help out?

Deffinitely Burundi. Be patient my friend, they are still tiny and will get their hump in time. My male was 14 inches.

Klaus, you know how people say,"The longer we keep our pets, the
more they begin to look like us!"
Well, that Burundi looks just like you!
Just one great big guy with a great "head" on his shoulders!

Hehehe, those are easy...those are burundis, just like the pics! He mentioned he was second guessing due to the nice blues showing up, but that's typical for some strains of burundis!
