Title: Guess what I've got???

Kim - June 23, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
My first spawn from my Cyno. sp. White Top Galireya produced 17 very large healthy fry!

But, I had a trio, and when I dropped the female back in the tank, I discovered that I for sure have two males and 1 female, so I'm looking for some more females since I think it will be too stressful for her until some of the fry mature! Any extras, Derek??? They don't have to be wild caught - just closer to breeding age than my fry are.

Here are some pics of Daddy, who was very glad to see Mom return from her holding tank...

These guys and my Chitende Island Mbambas are my favourites!

The White top fry are gorgeous, purplish blue, and a little over 1/4 inch.

Congrads Girl!!!!

They are amazing fish!I also like the fry they are awesome in colour! As far as what I have well I need to actually lessen my male stock as my males out number my females in the colony! The fry may be a better option for you but they are not anywhere near breeding size yet but you can grow out a nice breeding colony with different bloodlines with what you have and additionals from my lines

Okay, Derek, I would like to get some from you at some point. Hopefully we can get that BBQ planned soon!

I've got the babies in the tank on my desk by the pc...That's where my favourites go.

I have no way of knowing whether this was her first spawn or not, since she's a wild caught, but I was pretty impressed with her holding as well as she did. We left her in the main tank until a week ago.

Don, I need to try to get a good pic of the female once she gets back in shape. They are gorgeous, as well...A nice deep purplish blue! I find that a welcome change from the afra females in general. I guess it's a good and bad thing that the subdominant males look identical to the females.

I really need to learn to vent!
