Someone told me that we need the help of our good old friend , Common Sense , to manage our money well.
And my friend, Common Sense , suggests:
Not to put all my eggs ( Hey! I male how come can have eggs one, uh? Never mind, just let me continue to tell you what my friend says , ok?) in one basket . He suggests that I own 8 to 12 stocks - in mixed industries. (Wah, my friend Common Sense , got no common-sense leh. How poor man like me can have so many stocks? Want me to go to market place with broken bowl in hand and say :"tolong, tolong .. give ten dolla please .. want to buy shares. Pleeeaase!)
Go for first class stocks - blue -chips, second-liners, (Treasury) bonds. ( I think my friend CS is a snob.... nose-in-the-air type .... no wonder I never make use of Common Sense often ... he is seldom around poor man like me. )
Don't overpay for your stocks -find attractive stocks that are selling 30% or more below the last 12 mth- high. (Wah,so laychay must read the Business Times, one. I hate to read my school text books when young ... now he wants me to read newspaper!!!!!! He, crazy or what!? )
Don't be greedy. He says not to squeeze every drop of blood from your stocks (Stocks got blood , meh? I just know, man! No wonder my other friends used to say - that their 'BLOODY stocks' this and their 'BLOODY stocks' that. Since I started buying stocks I never seen my BLOODY stocks because they are already scriptless! No chance for me to see any of my bleeding stocks .... sad, sad. :( )He says must leave a few drops of blood for the fellow who buy our stocks by not holding to our stocks too long. When there's generous profit .. be grateful and sell. ( My friend CS thinks every stock investor must be like him - Blood-sucker or a dracula. He seow!)
Ok, my friend CS says all these but remember uh!? ... if you 'follow' him you're taking your own risk ... then if anything goes wrong don't blame me or your bloody stocks. Sometimes my friend Common Sense desert me and let me get into trouble ... I don't trust him so much, one. :P
