History 01 [::] An Upbringing of Evil
General History

For centuries, the souls of humans have been hanging in the air, swinging back and forth as unsteadily as a person in a noose. Such feeble creatures they are for with a single strike, the Reaper could be knocking on their door. Hostility crawling around through their veins like bugs while love beats through their heartstrings like an aboriginal drum. Not just feeble are they, but quite fickle creatures. It’s difficult to see through some of their barriers that they put up with easy. A smile is a sign of desperation, a bout of rage a cry for help, and a tear of saltwater a sign of freedom.

With these passing times, humans hadn’t evolved into much. Creatures that were above them in the food chain had been created by twisted means. One man, so far back now it’s hard to pinpoint, had not been bitten by a bat, but had ingested the meat that was infected with such rabid diseases. Another human, this one a woman, had feasted on the disease-ridden carcass of a wolf. Both found the meat to be tough and full of gristle, but neither took the opportunity to care for both were hunger-infested peasants on the hunt for food.

Days of pain – scream wrenching, blood curdling pain. There were snaps of crunching bone, the rips and tears of skin and internal organs, and the loss of prayer for survival. At the end of a week, one rose to the full moon on four paws with snout and tail, nose being able to smell any sort of blood or creature; and the other one was only able to encounter the living with the cloak of night, fangs sucking down on their lips, and the loss of all feeling.

Those were the days before things changed, before they evolved into their own personal demons.

The werewolves today can transform whenever they want too, still think as a human, and control their urges. Inevitably, though, if they don’t have some sort of meat, they die. The moon means nothing to them anymore, sunlight is just as fine to attack as night. Only these mutts can be stopped with the poisoning of their blood by silver by either direct transfusion of it into their system or from the slow dulling away of a silver bullet. Vampires have learned to be able to hide their fangs until they wish to use them, can now enter into the sunlight for short spouts of time, and have excellent eyesight and hearing, the exact opposite of a bats. No, they do not own any sets of wings. These vicious beasts can be killed by sunlight via the way of any sort of UV light. Wooden stakes will not help you here. On the other hand, decapitation seems to keep them in their underworld.

Just as humans have gone through war, so have these creatures for different reasons why. Not very long back, every vampire belonged to one single coven and every lycanthrope (werewolf) belonged to one pack. These covens and packs were broken up over the world, their main origins occurring around Europe. However, the initial dispute between both of them, inside their own systems, was rather they should target the Homo sapiens. Even bloodthirsty creatures had some sort of frame of a heart, but this broke them up into sides and war commenced.

After a swift month of war, which seemed like years with the brutal attacks, ripped flesh, lost souls, and hurried numerous amounts of soldiers, two pacts were formed: one splitting the vampires into separate covens and one splitting the lycanthropes into separate packs. To date, decades after this pact, nothing written in stone or blood, we’ve been left with two covens and two packs - the Sanguinaire coven, the Meurtrier coven, the Vorace pack, and the Courroucé pack.
