Rules
__&& REGISTRATION1. there must be a first and last name in your registration, but feel free to add a middle name
2. no funny business with this. We’re old enough to know better by now. A good example would be ‘Vinn Pitt’ or ‘Delores Faun’. There’s nothing like ‘wolfgirl’ or ‘futurebloodsucker’. Seriously, we’re not two.
3. if you mistype something in the registration form, please contact me via my accounts and I’ll gladly fix it for you. Do not hesitate to ask.
4. please make sure that you have checked the canon list to see if there’s anybody you’d like.
5. the only place you’re allowed to post if you’re not accepted is the out of character portion of the site and to reserve a character or a celebrity for your face claim.
6. we are also accepting originals, so don’t worry!
__&& CHARACTERS1. you are allowed to have up to four characters on separate accounts. It would be nice if they were from different covens and packs, but we’ll just see where the cards end up falling. But if you are going to have four characters, one of them MUST be male!
2. for the time being, I don’t mind if we have an imbalance of males and females or of groups. Sure, it’s not fun to have two guys and thirteen girls, but for now, I’m not enforcing a rule. However, if you’re comfortable playing a guy, please do so!
3. there will be no drastic amount of other creatures running around the place. If you would like some other creature such as a fairy, then contact me and we’ll talk about it.
4. humans are allowed, but I don’t want so many that they’re outrunning the vampires or werewolves. Definitely not the point of the site! =P
5. no Mary-Sue characters. This basically means that we all have flaws and weaknesses that need to be put into account here, even superhuman beings such as vampires and werewolves. They’re seductive creatures so I know there’s going to be sluts and manwhores, but lets not over do it!
6. NO HALF-BREEDS! We will eventually get to those, but we do not need any of them at this moment in time. And when I do allow them, it’ll only be a select few. This doesn’t mean you can’t have inner-species relationships, even though it’s pretty much frowned upon by covens/packs (not the site). So usually if there’s inner-species relationships being found out about, it’ll probably resort in some sort of fight.
7. Since the site is loosely based on the movie Underworld I know somebody will be using Kate Beckinsale somewhere alone the lines from the movie where she plays ‘Selene’. I am FORBIDDING a female character named Selene/based on Selene. Sorry all, but it just really frosts my buns.
__&& ROLE-PLAYING1. there is no strict rule about this, but I would suggest something about three paragraphs of about five sentences and more. Come on people, it’s a whole fifteen sentences. I realize we have off days, but when it’s a six-line paragraph every day, it gets annoying and dull. Plus, we’re a literate site so if you don’t know the difference between blond and blonde (one for male the other female) you better be able to learn to keep up!
2. no one-liners! Seriously, if I find any of this, I will be after you like Elmer Fudd for Bugs Bunny. Instead of a shotgun, it’ll be a metal spork and a nice long lecture. Nobody wants that!
3. THIRD PERSON! If none of you know what third person is, you’re shit out of luck.
4. grammar is something we learn at an early age, so it needs to be pulled out here as well. There’s spell check if you really need it. If you’re an exceptional speller, a few misspelled words aren’t too much of a bother because I know many times where my brain thinks one thing but my fingers type another. Just watch out for it.
5. the site has no rating to it. This mean that there will be swearing, sex, violence, drugs and drinking. I don’t want every other word to be a curse word and every other thread to be full of sex. But I know, I know, seductive creatures, but lets get some battles in here somewhere please!
6. no god-modding – enough said.
7. no pregnancy. Vampires can’t reproduce and werewolves have trouble with pregnancy. There can be scares, like what color will the stick turn, but nothing after that.
8. humans may not post in the vampire/werewolf territory
__&& ADMINS1. for the time being, it is only I, Erin, that is an admin around here. You can contact me through the root admin account or my other accounts,
2. respect! I demand it! I don’t care if you don’t like what I’ve done with the site, how I handle something, or how I role-play. You do not get to criticize me. This is by far one of the things I will not tolerate!
3. please wait at least 48 hours before contacting me about a profile. I’m only one person and I only have so much time. I will get to it. Trust me.
4. i will be currently in search of a co-admin to help me out with some stuff when things get bigger, so keep your eye open for that!
__&& MEMBERS1. do not flame, disrespect, or yell at other members for something serious. Making members feel bad is not what role-playing is about and it will not be allowed.
2. do not PM anybody inviting them to join a site! There are advertising boards for a reason! I get sick and tired of people passing along messages about a new site. This is a major no, no.
3. with new members, please help them out. I can’t afford getting a hundred messages a day asking me some of the simplest things. Members! If you do not know it, do not tell them anything. Have them go to the support area!
__&& ADVERTISING1. feel free to post an advertisement of somebody else’s board, but make sure that they have a guest friendly advertising area so we can post back.
2. when affiliating, I will resize all mini-banners that are larger than 88x31 or are oddly shaped. I want my board to look uniform and I don’t want my affiliates table bunching up because I’m picky like that.
__&& ACTIVITY1. there will be sporadic activity checks during the month. It isn’t that I want to try and just surprise you with it. I always try to do it at a certain time during the month, but I never seem to keep up with it. If I feel the board is getting inactive and cluttered, I will do it.
2. please note that if your character(s) are deleted, they are up for grabs by anybody if they’re canon, but you may also reclaim them. Don’t reclaim them though if you’re just going to be inactive again. I don’t want to have to remind everybody every other week.
3. also note that when your character is up for grabs, so is your celebrity that you use for your character. If you reclaim your profile, you just might not get your celebrity back. You have been warned.
__&& PICTURES1. there is no real amount of space that you can use. If you want to use a 200x500 picture or several 100x100 icons or 300x200, that is fine, but I don’t want it all sloppy and resizes the board.
2. no hot linking! If you don’t know what that is, look it up. If you use a signature picture somebody else has made, give him or her credit. If you take pictures from livejournal, credit the artist.
3. be smart people! I don’t want nude pictures and too suggestive statements! Honestly, if we wanted that, there would be a variety of porn sites we could go too.
4. the maximum size for an avatar is 100x100.
5. since the site is loosely based around the movie Underworld, I know somebody will probably end up using Kate Beckinsale as ‘Selene’, however the character not be like her at all! TOTALLY DIFFERENT IN THIS CASE.
6. using anime as a play by is all right, but I don’t really like it. I’m not banning it, but I would suggest maybe anime for their beast form and a celebrity as their human form.
__&& OTHER
1. the site is a basic three-strike-your-out system. You first get a warning, it happens again, you get banned for two days [48 hours], and the third you get banned for good old boy so lets not screw it up.
2. Boundaries of the U N D E R W O R L D does not discriminate against race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or orientation.
3. this is my site. I have the right to do anything I please with it. Suggestions are welcomed, but you don’t get to boss me around.
