(If it's all right I guess I'm going to kick off this little event, if not I'll just delete it.)
The doors opening silently as footsteps are heard through the darkness, the lights are out but all here know their way around. The doors then close and the light blue lights fade in over the stage, Vincent and a few gifted lycans and vampires looking to the floor. Vincent's hands are wrapped tightly around the mic stand as he leans closer, an odd grin on his face at this the most important of events between the covens and packs. He opens his mouth and places his upper lip against the mic. His ragged hair hanging down, hiding his blue eyes from the crowd as he snaps three times and the piano begins to play gently over the back round. The lights sweep across the stage slowly as he begins to tap his foot. The almost brand new stage his vans now tap against make a hallowed sound in this place tonight. His head rises and he grins out into the darkness. This is the time when they are all as one, not as vampires, not as lycans, but as people, though not people in the aspect of human. The piano continues it's slow dance among their ears and the guitarist sends a delicate note across the ceiling. And another set of lights, in an off shade of pink twirl amongst the blue, letting a dim light hang over the hall. This was the first event of the Autumn Festival, not the ball just yet but non the less still very important. Every year since the first Ball the week before music would be played in commemoration of the newest generation to join the packs and covens, the newly born, the newly bit. As the eyes of the many around begin to shine amongst the dim light Vincent starts to sing.
"Hello helicopter, are you here to stay?
Bodies, rest and motion fighting night and day
Well it's kill or be killed
And one day we'll get the best of them
Hello helicopter, will you be my friend?
Will you take me away?
Hello helicopter, have you heard the news?
No one gives a shit about the things they do
We all waste and consume, destroy and ruin everything we touch
It's easy not to think when you're not told that much
I'm not saying anything you haven't heard before
I'm just trying to understand the way we are
Hello helicopter, are you lost out there?
Swimming through the garbage dump that fills the air
In several more years no one will care
They'll be rich and dead
So let somebody else devise a cure for it."
The lights fade further in, Vincent's black pants, white shirt and tie are tinted blue and pink amongst the lights, his less the formal attire fitting of the music as he continues, line after line as they stream through his mind. He looks out into the now faint light of the smiling faces, of enemies of friends, of lovers and liars, all together now. He grins between his word and licks the inside of his lower lip. A friendly gaze in Dani's direction, an odd look into a vampires eyes and back to front only to close and fade out. His words continue to float and the guitars start to hammer in after the first verse, pulling the mic away from the stand and jumping back. The music gets only stronger form here as he smiles and moves to the beating drums that pound through him in sink with his heart. He lets the last phrase "I'm just trying to understand the way we are" echo through the hall for a second all of it cutting out for a split second before hammering on into the next verse. The crowd begins to move, some of the older vampires holding their stances towards the back of the room. He can only smirk at the sight of dancing and normality among them all, no blood shed tonight.
Today was a day where Jasper truly did not feel like himself. He had been making preparations for today for months and he was relieved that it was finally here. He stared at himself in the mirror and slicked back part of his hair that was in the way. He smooth the pin striped pants and the vest that went with it out over his body. Jasper really hated these things. There were so many expectations and he hated being on his best behavior. If this ball wasn't on his territory maybe he wouldnt have to act so much but things were just expected. Tonight he had to make sure that he was a good leader and he had to make sure he didnt slip into his usual ways and make-out with anyone. No, tonight would be as normal as possiable.
Jasper took one last look in the mirror and headed down towards the ball. Making a mental checklist, Jasper made sure that he made all the necessary properations to keep his territory safe. As Jasper made his way into the crowd, he looked for one person. That one person was Dani. He saw Vince on stage as he pushed past a vampire. He hoped that no blood would be shed tonight, otherwise it was his head on the chopping block. He really didnt want to have to explain to the other leaders why one of their own was killed. He had made sure he made it clear to the pack that it was to be normal and civil here. As he continued to push through the crowd, Jasper spotted a few familar faces there. He grabbed a beer from the table next to him and took a swig. He really need to loosen up. This uptight attitude he had about him made no fun for partying.
Jasper finally found her there on the dance floor. He stood on the edge of the crowd watching her. He heard the song finish and he heard her scream. Her scream was almost as loud as his howl was in his wolf form. He smiled. That was Dani for you, she never cared what people thought. That was one thing he loved about her. He let her have her fun for a moment as he shook hands and welcomed a few people to the ball. When he was done with that he headed to join Danica on the dance floor.
Jasper really wasn't much for dancing. Actually, he was kind of uncoordinated. It wasn't really ideal for him to dance because he would look like a fool. As he approached Dani, he thought she looked amazing. The way her dressed flowed around her made her like short of like a goddess to him. He smiled his half smile. " You look great," he said kissing her on the cheek. He really didnt want to make it too obvious how much he liked her.
((I'm kinda waiting for more people to join. sorry if it's tedious.))
OH god, what was she in for this time? First, Hikari got a wonderfully decorated letter, well invite to a ball... Mysterious... So even though she knew it was against her better judgment, Hikari decided to go. But now it was probably a bad idea. People were turning their gazes to her. Was it her outfit?.... Who knew... The invite wasn't very specific except come to this place with a formal attire. So what did Hikari wear?... She decided to wear blue and silver. Her dress was a chinese cheongsam that was made of an ankle length midnight blue brocade with embroidered silver dragons. She had the mandarin collar, but it was backless. Also there was a fragile, dark blue mesh that held the collar and the rest of the dress together. It just held above her cleavage. A little show of skin and leg, the slit was just a little above finger tip length. To finish off the look, she was wearing silver heels, with some elegant black armbands, and her hair was in an elegant bun, with some of the hair gracefully sticking out.
Hikari did not feel at all at ease, so she brougth a pair of flats in her small purse just in case she had to run. As for weapons... Hee;s could be considered weapons.. But she also brought small daggers, with chinese symbols engraved in the metal, with her. They were attached to her armbands.. three in each so only six. But that still didn't put her at ease... But for now, she didn't want anything to happen, so she laid low. She leaned again a pillar, watching and listening. The hard sounds of guitar ripped through the air as the entertainment began. Hikari turned her head to see a strapping young man on stage, singing. Everyone near the front were screaming, jumping wildly. She would have no part in that. The singer's song lyrics though, They, honestly, were really cool. Hikari smiled to herself as she closed her eyes and nodded her head to the beat. So far, so good.
But would it be later? Depends probably. She continued to look after the people. Why were they giving her looks? Her gaze was neutral and calm. Hikari DID NOT want anyone to think that she wanted to pick a fight.
