So you've snapped? You're now a nuisance, a liability, a burden that no one wants to bear. Well fret no more, we'll still take you in when no one else wants you. We can fix your problems by whatever means necessary. Welcome to Bridgevale, get comfy, you'll be here awhile.

Bridgevale Psychiatric Hospital was originally erected in the early 1920's, with an impressive array of support buildings, several cottages and a vast network of underground tunnels connecting them. It had the capacity to hold over two-thousand patients, yet, after WWII, there was a shortage of beds due to the amount of patients and shell-shocked veterans, needing rehabilitaion, being admitted.

However, inhabitants of this place could not have any connection with the outside world. All staff members lived on site, in the cottages while the patients remained locked up in their rooms for the most part. Mosy remained in this horrible building until they died. Think about the atmosphere...what would being locked in with insanity and death, sneaking the bodies out through underground tunnels to improve morale, do to you? Wouldn't you want to escape? To get out of there?

Well the only way out was to fix the lunatics. Unfortunately, the stuffy higher-ups had rules implemented, procedures doctors had to follow with treatment and what have you. Procedure does not leave much room for exploration, and it's exploration that furthers science. At least this was the opinion of a small percentage of the local staff, the ones that had to deal with the patients directly, the ones that were forced to look these twisted beings in the eyes every day in an attempt to convince them that they were getting better, that they'd be getting out soon. Could you do it? Could you fake that smile and lie to them in such a way that they could believe you?

So it came time to break the rules, to stray from procedure in search of a breakthrough. In search for the answers, the cure. Countless experiments were performed on patients. So many that the ill and dying became mere lab rats in the eyes of doctors with decreasing mental stability. With the decrease came the decrease of morals as well. Desperation begot more and more careless experiments, and by the end of it, doctors began doing so for pure pleasure, the idea of cheating God.

Curiousity began to take hold in authorities in the early 1950's. Why hadn't anyone heard word from the institution? Dilligent doctors and homesick patients had been calling out less and less, until there was radio and telephone silence for weeks. A team was sent to examine the state of things in the hospital but upon entry they were met by the stench of death which burst forth through the doors like a wave. Bodies were scattered everywhere. Blood stained the walls, the floors, the ceilings. Spattered everywhere. Every single soul within this building had been murdered. Bodies that had died naturally remained in their beds or piled up in the morgue. Even in the tunnels designed to remove bodies from the hospital to the incinerator, there were doctors laying dead, covered in blood, their hands still pushing carts of bodies. The incinerator itself was still running, flames licking out of the opening, body bags piled, ready to be placed inside.

Riots had broken out, the patients had rebelled against the horrible mistreatment, not a soul remained alive within these walls and the entire affair was hushed up by the government. Bridgevale was shut down for years, falling into a state of disrepair...until the late 1990's, when it was finally restored. The Bridgevale Psychiatric Hospital has finally reopened its doors. New patients are being admitted, but a whole new set of problems has been arising after dark, problems that have the patients living in terror. Being put in solitary confinement overnight has become one of the most dreaded punishments

The details of the massacre had been long forgotten and patients began filling up the halls once again but the living aren't the only ones that roam these sterile hallst. Only those who are trapped there know what really happens after lights out...
BUT WHO WILL BELIEVE THE WORDS OF MADMEN?
