Title: Darkness vs. Light: THE NEVER ENDING BATTLE

Hikari Zhou - July 24, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
Never since she graduated college, did Hikari leave a place, at night, without her guns and katana. She felt as if they were a part of her. For outside purposes, she would always be able to hide most of her weapons. Her four guns; two brownings and two pistols were in little enclosed pockets on her tleath thigh straps. Her katana, which was harder to hide, stuck out from her messenger bag. Hey, she didn't care if people questioned her about that, Hikari did what she thought was necessary for her survival.

She walked down the dimly light streets in light denim with a black tank top with an open jacket with the "Corpse Bride" logo on the back. It was comfortable and kind of fashionable too. Besides, it was a bit cool because the night was on the verge of rain and nighttime was always a few degrees lower than the day. So having a jacket wasn't too bad. Later, Hikari might have to look into the clothes store to see what she like for new clothes.

Now hopefully she wasn't being paranoid, but tonight seemed to have her on edge for some reason. She hated when she had that feeling because most of the time, nothing happened and she would have stressed out for nothing. But usually this feeling didn't go away until she was back home. So what she did was she took out one of her brownings from its case and put it in her coat pocket. This made her feel a tiny bit better, but not really.

John Daniel Torrance - July 24, 2007 02:43 PM (GMT)
John wasn't the type of hold a grudge. He didn't need to, because he always made sure that his enemies got what they deserved. A one way ticket to hell. But when people don't get what they deserve, John gets a bit...Itchy.

Up on the rooftops of a building, John held up a large scythe next to him. The typical two-handled grip had been removed and replaced with a thick rubber handle so that it would be easy to wield as a weapon. His coat flapping gently in the wind, John watched the ground below him with a cold face, knowing that his victim would show up soon. John had wore an all black coat that had been strapped over the torso and open from his waist down to his ankles. Under the chest of the coat, John snuck in a thin layer of kevlar armor to better protect him from bullets. Pulling out a circular watch from his thin, black leather pants, John check the time and slid it back in.

Then finally, when John's target had finally showed up, he slid on a black and white, skull face mask, and jumped from the rooftop down to the ground. Landing behind Hikari, John's heavy combat boots made a loud thud that echoed all around him.

Hitting the ground with the butt of the scythe, John pointed at Hikari with his free hand and grinned under his mask. "You! Your soul comes with me!" John growled, his voice pitched down low, making his voice make it sound aggressive, and some-what hard to decipher.

Hikari Zhou - July 24, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
OOC: Question, do we know each other in this thread or no?

All she heard was a thud behind her, and Hikari ran a few feet in front of her before whipping around with her browing at hand. What was this? Halloween? The person behind her was wearing mostly black clothing with a skull mask on. And in his hand was a very large scythe. She wondered how the hell no one really noticed a guy with a large scythe in the area.

"You! Your soul comes with me!"

Her soul? Huh, Hikari wasn't as weak as she looked. Reaching into her messenger bag, she took out her katana and placed it at the hook on her side. Hikari will most definitely need it later. Then reaching down, she grabbed the second browning fro her side. There was no way in hell this person was going to take her down.

"Who the hell are you to say that my soul is your's for the taking?! I'm not coming with you!"

She cocked both guns, making them ready to use. She had experience with the guns and the sword. But only enough to hopefully keep her alive for a short while. Hikari definitely needed to get better.. Soon. Somehow, iron/lead bullets wouldn't do much against a vampire except leave metal in the body and somewhat harm it. But she knew she would have to buy te UV bullets. Because she would definitely need it for another encounter of a vampire.

She had a thing for battles, Hikari wouldn't do first blood. The person in front of her would have to attack her first.

John Daniel Torrance - July 24, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
ooc: yes, they do.

The fact that there were some other people nearby only made John's thirst stronger. As he stood there, a small group of people quickly gathered around to look at them. At first, the people had been scared, but because of the mask on John's face, they had assumed that it had been some kind of street performance. Luckily, there had only been a small amount of civilians in the area, and by now, all of them had crowded around John. Grinning under the mask, John bent his knees and took a large swing, moving his body along with the thrust and making a full circle with the scythe as it killed all the people around John. Most had been lucky and got their neck cut off for a quick, painless death. The others however, has been in half around the wait or chest, and would continue to bleed for another minute or so before dying.

Purposely, John dodged Hikari with his scythe and if anything would have cut a small, unnoticeable amount of hair. Facing Hikari again after the swing, John held the bloody scythe with both hands as he watched the people die around him. A very pleasant sight to see for a vampire who loved blood. Although he could have stopped right there and feed as much as he wanted on the innocent, what John wanted was revenge, and would not settle for anything else.

"The sinner's soul must be harvested." John grunted in the same menacing tone as before. Pulling up his scythe again and leaped back, creating more distance between him and Hikari. He could have of course, simply hurl the scythe at her, but John wanted to enjoy every second of torturing her, and would not settle for an immediate death.

John took up the position to go for another swing and knelt down again. But instead of swinging, John dashed at Hikari and aimed his hand at her neck, planning to hold her up and choke her for a bit.

Hikari Zhou - July 24, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
There was a group of people gathering around the two. Great, they thought it was like a performance or a recording. No! Get away! Hikari was about to yell for them to get out, but it was too late. John's blood lust was great and he started slicing people. Blood and cut bodies scattered the streets. What was the expression that he was hiding from beneath that mask? Bliss? Enjoyment? Either way, he was going to pay.

Just seeing all the blood and bodies make Hikari feel sick. It was surprising that she hadn't vomitted yet from the sight and the smells.

"The sinner's soul must be harvested."

She whipped around and glared.

"That's my line for you! You will pay, you bastard"

He looked like he was going to swing, but he decided it was more fun to try and choke her. John's hand was coming at a fast rate towards her neck. As quickly as she could, Hikari threw herself off to the left to avoid the lethal hand. Tiny spears of pain came to her neck, she still hadn't been fast enough. His nails scraped her skin and left little cuts on her neck. As she was diving, she turne her guns towards him. She shot a couple of bullets at his chest, but they didn't penetrate the body. Shoot. He was wearing some sort of armor. Their last encounter taught him well. So might as well aim at something else. Switching hand positions, she sent bullets at his arms and legs, trying to find a place to give hima disadvantage, while she was scrambling to get up and run around.

"Shit."

She wouldn't be able to keep this up for long. Like any human, she was limited to energy. The vampire had a limit too, but it was more extended than her's. As she empited a cartrige, she went in to her pocket for another. Hopefully had time to recharge. Because she was halfway into putting a new cartidge of bullets into her browning. But it seemed that her katana would be needed soon.

John Daniel Torrance - July 24, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
When John felt her neck in his hands, he immediately pulled up, and lifted her off the ground. Then as he was about enjoy his success, he felt a bullet hit his chest. Although none of them pierced through, the shock would have left some sort of bruise on his skin. Still, John did not but twitch from the dulled bullets. And right before John was about to squeeze Hikari's neck harder in anger, he felt more bullets penetrate through his legs, and then his arm. Hikari had managed to hit John in the arm in which he held her up by, and reacting in the pain, John threw her to the side.

Checking the damage on his arm, john moved his arm around a bit, and watched the bullet pop out of the wound, and the same from his legs. It had hurt like shit, but John wasn't about to give it all up because some pain in his arm. Picking up the scythe once again, John slowly stomped over to where he had thrown Hikari, anger clearly visible in his eyes.

Once John was closer to her, he took a swing at her legs. They had not been aiming to severely wound Hikari, just leave a nasty cut over the legs and cause some bleeding. Then he took a few more mock swings over at her chest and head, make sure that it was far away enough to avoid hurting her, but close enough to convince her that he was willing to kill.

His arm still wounded, John threw the scythe away once he was done, and pulled out his Wakizashi, and a hunting knife. "C'mon. Take another fucking shot, it just might be your last" he said in his normal voice.

Hikari Zhou - July 24, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Now being thrown aside wasn't that bad, if you knew how to land. Hikari made sure that her arms went down first and then the lower half of her body. The pain was still there thought. But it wasn't as bad as the throbbing on her neck. That was a close one. Thank god, she shot at his amrs and legs. But that didn't seem to stop John. The bloody bullets were on the ground and he was advancing towards her. Like a cat stalking a cornered mouse. This was not good. She scooted herslef back as he came with scythe and all.

Just to make it fun his sadistic way, John swung his scythe down, giving her cuts everywhere. They were now on her legs, thighs, arms, and chest. The one on her chest cut through her jacket and shirt but not as deep. All the other cuts were bleeding. Shit, would she be able to get to her sword? It was nearby, so she would have to make a run for it.

"C'mon. Take another fucking shot, it just might be your last" he said in his normal voice.

He discarded his scythe for something smaller, a hunting knife. She needed her katana!

"Maybe I will, you fucking leech!"

Maybe trying to empty her guns on him might be a good distraction. She, got up quickly, and tried shooting at his arms, his legs, his head, anywhere that had not been covered with armor. But getting up that fast made the pain worse than it was. Blood was still coming down, and the cuts hurt like hell. Once she emptied her first pair, she threw them at John as hard as she could and grabbed her katana out of her bag.

The blade was tampered from a lgiht weight silver, with carved chinese words on them. There even was a little decorated cross on it. Hikari wasn't sure if that would help ward off her attacker, but at least it was sword against sword. John came out of nowhere, swinging his knife to give the lethal blow, but her katana blade was there. He was stronger than her, so the blades were quivering. Quickly, she karate kicked him on the left leg to distract him again. As they parted, Hikari swung diagonal, slashing at his chest. The armor helped a bit, but it cut his shoulder. Then she trotted backwards, panting. This was looking up.

John Daniel Torrance - July 24, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
John stood still and watched as Hikari move, but when she pulled out her guns, John covered his face and took all of her bullets. By the time she had finished, John had already recovered from many of the first few shots, but still numbed from the hail of bullets that she had unleashed. John did not move for a few seconds, allowing his brain to take in all the pain and begin repairing the wounds. Then when he saw her pull up a blade John moved towards her and slashed. Their blades met, and John felt a kick knock him down onto the ground. Hikari's slash managed to cut through his coat and reveal the layer of armor he had underneath. Standing back up, John leaped back and ripped off his torn coat.

Quickly sliding out of the armor, John felt free from the pounds of kevlar he had on. His chest now bare, John felt somewhat comfortable, but definitely lighter since he has taken off the armor. But before John went for another attack, he took off the face mask and revealed his identity to Hikari.

Without saying a word, he leaped towards her, his blades ready to cut as he came down. "Die" he muttered as both his blade went for her chest.

Hikari Zhou - July 25, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
After the diagonal cut, John stripped off his now ruined coat, revealing the armor. So that was why the bullets didn't pierce through him. He slipped it off, reveal his chest. On the pale skin, were some tiny bruises. They were probably from the bullets' impact. He then also took off his mask, finally review himself. Strangely enough, he was a very good looking guy, but just doing the wrong things.

IT seemed that the removal of the armor relieved some of the weight that was holding him down because he charged at her with both his sword and his knife. Hikari only had time to escape one blade, but not the other. Turning to the right, she was able to parry the Wakizashi, while her left shoulder was impaled by the hunting knife. Pain exploded from the shoulder as blood began to seep out. She react quickly by kneeing John in the stomach and slicing upward on his chest. He had been so close because he leapt at her, so it was easier to have close combat with him.

"I won't die that fast..."

She felt more pain as the hunting knife moved deeper into the muscle as she kicked him off. Then it felt numb, so she couldn't tell if the blade came out. It probably did when she kicked him away. What time was it? IT was definitely late evening, early morning. Wtih a quick look at dead corpe's watch, it said 3 AM. Damn still not close enough for light.

John Daniel Torrance - July 25, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
The knee to his stomach forced John to stumble back and left him open just long enough for Hikari to land her attack. her blade had cut him a wound stretching from his stomach up to his chin. John was once again amazed at how one human had been able to land so many hits on him without dying, but John did not let his thoughts get into the way of his emotions, and allowed his rage to take control.

Instead of coming at her with another cut, John took a leap forward and hurled the hunting knife at her feet. Then upon landing, John quickly balanced himself and went for a horizontal cut with his wakizashi. Running out of sharp objects to throw, John followed up the previous cut by crouching down and picking up one of the bodies from the ground. This one unlucky one had been sliced through the waist, and suffered quite a lot before he had seen the light. Still, John did not feel the slightest bit of sympathy, and returned to what he had been planning to do. Grabbing the corpse by the arm, John took a few steps back and he twirled the body above his head to build up momentum, and then finally tossed it over at Hikari. The corpse, which had only included the torso, arms, and head, had weighed more than a hundred pound, and had been shot out at an incredible speed. But as it flew in the air, John realized that he had aimed too low and that the corpse was flying towards Hikari's upper legs, rather than her torso.

Although he has done thousands of morbid, cruel, and sick things in the past, this by far had to be one of the worst. To the vampire however, it had been one of the funniest sights he had seen since World War One, where poison gases ripped the flesh right off the victims, and often caused blindness. The body he had hurled, took a bigger toll on his body than john had thought, and he felt his breathing get deeper as he watched the body fly. Turning around, John had to find another way, so that he would not wear out as much energy. Remembering about the scythe, John walked over to it and picked it up with one hand while the other slid his Wakizashi back in its scabbard.

Hikari Zhou - July 25, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
OOC: I don't think we're allowed to kill each other off, right?

So the knife was taken out, because John hurled it at her feet. Hikari luckily was quick on her feet, so the knife missed. Then out of nowhere was a horizontal cut. She scooted back quick enough just for the blade to cut her shirt. But a flying body, she could not escape. The throw sent the corpse at her feet. Was she able to escpae this one? She jumped but her left foot got caught by the body, and she fell on her side.

Her body was wrecked with pain, objecting to every move she made. But Hikari didn't care; her survival was more important that anything else. Turning, she saw that John had the scythe in his hand now. Shit, not that scythe again. She scrambled to her feet, taking out her second pair of guns. Her sword was already at her side. She began shooting at John again, hoping that some of them would slow him down. It seemed that was was the longest fight she had every fought because the sky was turning from dark blue to purple, with the hint of orange. The sun was rising. She decided that if Hikari was to survive, she would have to run and fight until sunrise came. Seeing that his hunting knife was nearby, she grabbed it and ran.

"Sunrise, don't fail me now. Please."

She prayed like hadn't before. Hikari didn't really believed, but she needed a miracle, fast.

John Daniel Torrance - July 25, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)
ooc:Well, no, but I'm a nice guy so I allow most people to give my character a crippling wound, and occasionally, allow people to kill my character.

Looking around, John found his target and slowly walked over to her, partially because he was tired, but also because he knew that it would not be long before he made that final cut. Then as he got closer, John held the scythe up over his head, ready to reap, but saw her pull out the guns, and made a jump the the side. John, now getting annoyed and frustrated at how long this fight was lasting, had no desire at all to take a few bullets, but just wanted to end it. Taking more jumps to the side, and often a roll or two, John dodged many of the shots, but a few still managed to hit him.

With each move John had made, he had snuck in a small step or two to get closer to Hikari, but when she ran for it with his knife, John did the same. Vampires were faster than humans, but when a tired and wounded vampire was chasing a human running at full speed, it would have taken a few more seconds than usual to catch up.

Getting closer and closer to Hikari, John had the scythe up high and was ready to cut. But before he was able to kill Hikari, he saw the sun creep up and paint the sky in orange and red. Quickly, John stopped his attack, turned around, and ran back. Picking up his coat while running, John left his armor and mask behind, but continued to move on into the many twists and turns of the city, and not before long, he had completely disappeared from Hikari's view.

As John ran towards the Meutrier cavern, he thought about all that had happened, and remembered his knife. It had been an old, but valuable knife, and had been with John ever since he was a kid. John had gotten the blade fixed, and changed few times, but the handle had remained the same for more than a hundred years. Now only few changes that had ever been made to the grip had been a few paint jobs, and the word MARY being engraved onto one of the sides.

Walking into the catacombs, John ignored the few vampires that came to question him about the wounds, and continued on towards his little cave. Locking the door behind him, John punched the stone wall with all his strength and sat down on the cold floor. One way or the other, he was going to get the knife back.

[John exit]

Hikari Zhou - July 25, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
OOC: Oh ok ^^.. Such a bloody thread this one has been.

It seemed that some supernatural force or God answered her prayers because the sun's rays were visible now. Turning her head, she saw John about to give her the lethal blow with his scythe. Oh course, she thought that this would be her final moment because there was no way she could out run a vampire, especially in her tattered condition. But of course the sun is the vampire's universal enemy.

He disappeared as fast as he had came. Hikari stopped and dropped to her knees. Her gun and John's hunting knife dropped from her hands. This young body of her's was going to age faster than it should. Hikari picked up the knife and gun, pocketing them both. She slowly got up and limped away from the area. Hikari had to leave, before everything caught up to her.

After getting back to her hotel room, she showered the blood away, bandaged up and changed. The feeling of new clothes on had neer felt better. After packing up, she went outside and put her stuff in a taxi. But before she left, she burned her clothes in outside near a dumpster. Then she left, leaving for a new city before the morning turned to day, from day to afternoon, and from afternoon to night.
