D'vorak first, then anyone and everyone welcome!

The black alpha adhered to the scent of pine trees and rich soil, moving from the borders to Mordechai's deeper forest region. The brisk pre-winter air brought the familiar scent of snow mingled with frost. Hours before, frost paralyzed the grass. Even now, the midday sun held little hope of banishing the cold. Warmth melted the frost for now, but give it a few weeks...
<p>
Macabre loped down the hardened trail with fluid grace. She moved swiftly but not too fast for the new member behind her, D'vorak. This would be the third black adult in the Mordechai pack. Vitauni, Jenacia, Jale... there were many, weren't there? That wasn't counting the younger wolves, ones like Goss and Amitria.
<p>
Nearly every ebon-furred wolf also seemed to have wonderful potential. Vitauni and Jale became alphas, Jenacia and Amitria seemed intelligent and capable... and D'vorak too impressed Macabre. The loner knew the proper social behavior and respectful words, even offered good skills. That was why Macabre accepted her within the hour.
<p>
As she approached a small clearing by a parallel creek, Macabre slowed to a stop at the bank and lapped the crisp water. Then, retreating a few paces, she skimmed the frozen forest floor with quivering black nostrils. Wolves passed by often because the creek was a popular water source. Perhaps others remained nearby.
<p>
<b>"I suppose I should introduce you to your packmates."</b>
<p>
So, tilting her broad muzzle back, Macabre lifted her lungs in an invitation to meet a new member. Nothing urgent but more of a request than an invitation. Wolves needed to know their packmembers in case somebody slaughtered the newcomer before realizing their mistake.

Coming to a halt behind her leader, she overlooked the new layout of the land. Indeed she was impressed and rather happy for all the room really. As she too lapped up water from the cold creek, she savored ever licking of it. She had loved crisp water such as this, and it at times would be a rare commodity in the year unless it was in the colder months. Not that she only wanted crisp water. Maybe it was because she was rather thirsty that day.
Nodding to Macabres statement, she turned to clean her pelt rather quickly before others would arrive. While she howled for the others to arrive, she quickly cleaned her pelt. Her pink tongue went through her fur as she got a couple burs out and removed the dirt laiden deep in the fur. As soon as she finished, she went back to the river to rinse out the dirt from her mouth. Plus she was still rather thirsty, so she had to quench it once more.
Indeed. And perhaps those that gather can attend a hunt if they wish. Also a way to get acquainted with one another and see one anothers' hunting tactics. she offered.
