Personality:
Amiya has a very strong character. She is fun and very loving, and has a wild imagination. As well as her free spirit type of personality, she is also compelling, intelligent, compassionate, kind, respectful, loyal and trustworthy. She will follow others like herself, but only on her own accord and when she chooses to. Being brave and adventurous as she is, she can come across to others a little hyperactive and slightly out of control which can sometimes get her into big trouble...
When it comes to authorities Amiya will frown. She’s really not one for being told what to do, but if she knows she has no choice.. then she can’t really complain. Amiya is very loyal to her friends and any other she thinks worthy of her loyalty. Cautious but very curious Amiya does tend to be a little bit of a trouble maker, and defiantly a prankster..
Coming to strange wolves she does not recognize, especially after a kill, she becomes protective and closed. She rarely speaks to those of whoms intent is to steal a kill, provoke a fight, or intent to harm or kill. To pups, she treats them like they are her own. She nurtures, teaches, provides and protects with her life if given the task to guard pups or care take abandoned ones.
Appearance:
Amiya is a pure white Arctic wolf. Every small hair on her slender body is perfectly white like the new grown teeth of an infant. As white as an elephants tusks. As white as a brand new snowfall in the mountains. Not a single different color is visible on her. The only other color she has is her saffron eyes. To those that look upon these optics, they remind them of golden leaves in late autumn falling of the tips of branches of the trees.
Amiya isn't a huge wolf, yet she isn't small. Perfectly sized. Her frame is fairly muscular for a female, she holds that of a slim and slender body, defiantly built for long distance running. Her paws are small with long claws used for treads like the runners and their running shoes, her legs long and well muscled to help aid in the running. Her tail is very long and fluffy. Like the fur of a domesticated house cat that was just blowed dry with a hair dryer from a recent bath.
History:
Amiya was born in the Rocky Mountains in the central region of the states. A new snow fall has just came and it was her first time out in it since she was born. As she looked to the gray sky, she watched little white dots get bigger and bigger as they slowly came down and landed in the white powder. She lifted her head and stuck out her tongue. When a flake landed on it, she squealed and giggled and bounded around splashing snow everywhere. "Mamma! It is so cold on my tongue! How does the sky do that?" she asked as she bounded around catching more snow flakes. Skye chuckled as she stood nearby to watch. Skye was a normal colored Timber wolf. Brown, gray, white and black all stained her pelt. She had her golden eyes on her daughter carefully. "Because when the sun is so far away and the sky gets so cold, the rain freezes into little snow flakes which float down and on your tongue." she said as she leaned on Karo, her mate. Karo on the other hand was a different color. He had all white on his pelt, with fletchings of brown within the fine hairs. His eyes were also as gold as Skye's. He leaned over and licked Skye's head. "I am going to fetch us some dinner." he said as she sat straight up and Karo turned into the forest. As Skye watched him go, he eventually slipped from sight. As she turned to watch Amiya, she was gone. Skye blinked a few times. Where was Amiya? Two steps forward, then a pause. five steps and then a pace change to a jog. She began to shout out for her. "Amiya! Amiya!" she frantically looked around. She dug her paws into the snow in random places. Had she fallen into a snow trench on the mountain? A small head popped out from behind her near a pine tree. Pink tongue lolled out and saffron eyes glittered. A small pile of snow was atop of her head. "Here I am! I was building a tunnel!" she shouted,. Skye turned her head around quickly with eyes of fear and breathing fast. She blinked twice as her body began to loosen from being tense. Slowly, her fur softened from that of being bristly like a porcupine, to a soft new kittens coat. She sighed as she turned her body to face her. "Amiya, you cannot do that. It scared me." she leaned her head down to meet her eye level. "Do you remember what I taught you?" she asked her. Amiya kept her head level and made her eyes looked up as she slowly clicked her tongue. "You taught me never to leave your sight and to tell you where I am going. Especially in winter time. If we are moving to some place else and you lose me in the snow, I would either freeze or starve to death, or become a meal for another predator." she said as she shifted her gaze to Skye's. Skye smiled. "Very good." She licked the top of her head as she brushed all the snow off. "Now. Your father has gone off to fetch us some food. He should be back shortly..." she said as she lifted her head and squinted her eyes as she looked in the direction he had headed in. Just as she looked up a howl like a dinner bell rang through the trees. "Ah. That would be him!" she said as she motioned for Amiya to follow. Amiya looked up at her mother still with her tongue lolled out and padded along side her mothers long trot gait. She made sure to stay at her left shoulder so she could stay in her peripheral vision. "I hope daddy caught something good!" she said excitedly. Skye chuckled. "Well, I am sure he did. Some Caribou have been moving around from the Great Migration, so we should have a big feast coming."
As they reached the valley, Skye told her to lie in the shrubs next to her as she looked around for Karo. It was a vast and wide open grassy field with a little snow on the ground. There were no other creatures from what she could see out. Finally, she saw Karo's body to the left of her. He was not that far off at least. He saw Skye and nodded to her that it was safe. "Stay close to me. And do not lose me. Call if I get too far ahead." she said as she began to jog forward. Amiya leaped through the shrubs and jogged along side her mother. She had not yet been in the grassy field. And boy! Was it hard to walk through! The long and hard stems hit her nose and made it hard to see. Slowly, she slowed down and tried to crawl through. "Mamma!" she called out. Skye turned around and could see her very well. She had already reached the carcass. "Keep coming, baby. You are almost there." she chuckled as she stood by Karo. Amiya grunted and growled until she saw a big brown thing in front of her. She jumped back and saw her mother standing on the other side. Slowly she walked around and saw that it was a rather large elk. She sighed with relief as she sat next to Skye. Skye smiled. "I have already eaten my fill. Go ahead and eat while I keep watch." His deep voice sounded. Skye nodded as she lead Amiya to the other side where he had already ripped it open. Amiya took her fangs and reached in for the raw red meat. She had to admit, it was different tasting than the milk, but it was too tough for her to pull off! "Here." Skye said as she stood above Amiya. Tilting her head inwards, she regurgitated meat that she had eaten and set it before her. Amiya bent down to eat the meal. When she was full, Skye took her turn at the carcass. She ripped and tore at it. "Watch carefully. Someday, you will be doing the same thing Amiya." said Karo as he bent down to reach her ear. The eight month old watched Skye with her tongue lolled out and her head tilted.
As time flew by, the winter snows melted and the once dead valleys erupted with wild flowers and deer pranced within the grasses with new borns of all sizes. Creatures like deer, elk, rabbits and other small creatures all fed on the new grass sprouts and clovers. And then there were the predators also that would feast on this new spring day as well. A small tri-colored female stood in wait for a meal. A small doe walked by her head low as she was grazing. She had her back turned and was maybe fifty feet away. Skye lied in wait until the right moment was set. When she saw her moment, she exploded out of the shrubs and made her way to the doe. The doe lifted her head and sent out the alarm with her white tail. She zig-zagged this way and that trying to avoid Skye. Suddenly, another wolf who was brighter in color came running on the other side. With his teeth, he tried to trip the doe from the back legs. The clicking of his fangs clanging together was loud enough for everyone to hear. Suddenly, a bleach white wolf came from behind. Leaping up, she jumped atop of the doe and bit down on the back of the neck where it connected to the spine. There, she shook her head as she tried to use her weight to over balance her and bring her down. Finally, as she leaned to the left, she doe began to trip and eventually toppling down. Amiya jumped off just before she crashed. Karo jumped on the doe to pin her down wile Amiya and Skye bit on the legs to keep it from getting up. As Karo clasped down on its spine, a crack was sounded and soon enough, the doe began to settle down until she finally lay lifeless on the grass. Panting, Skye and Amiya stood by as Karo took the first bite since he killed it. After a while, Skye and Amiya also dug in. Skye kept looking up to Amiya, who was now two years old, as if she wanted to talk to her. And finally, she sat up as she chewed a bite. "So Amiya. Have you seen any other wolves around that you might have gotten interested in?" she said as she chomped a bite. Karo kept silent. Amiya looked up just as she swallowed. "Interested in?" she started as she met her mothers gaze. Skye simply had a smile upon her face. "Well... no... I didn't know I was supposed to be looking..." she trailed off. "Well, no. I never said you had to look. It is just when I was your age, I was out looking for a pack and or a mate you know. Because I was getting to the age where I could take care of myself." she said as she took another bite. "You want me to leave?" Amiya asked worriedly. "No, no Amiya! We are just saying we think you should take the time to find other wolves your age. You know. Get to know them. Make some friends. You can stay with us as long as you like. We just know that some day, when you meet some one that you are interested in, you will leave us one day to be with that wolf. That's all. I have done it, your mother has done it, all wolves have done it. And it is okay. And if you like, you can come back to us anytime." said Karo with a smile. He was always so informative and understanding. Amiya liked that about him.
That night, she thought about what they had said. And they were right. She had been dreaming that she was out on her own with another wolf beside her. It was not Skye or Karo. Was it her lover? She was unsure at the interpretation of these dreams she had been having, but she knew it was a vision of what was to come some day. One of her desires. So the next morning, she went out on her own to do a little exploring. She had traveled to the west. Farther than she had ever been. She saw plenty of deer at that, Caribou, Elk and even a few bigger things than what she had seen before. She had heard Skye describe these things and she thought she had called them Moose. It was always a funny word to say in her mouth. Made it tingle really. As she went on, she crossed through a marsh. She could see why it was called a marsh. Because that was the sound it made as she walked through it. She could see the tall reeds and these brown fuzzy things that were giving off white fluffy stuff. As some of it landed on her nose, she sneezed furiously from the tickling sensation. Jogging through the reeds, she jogged out and reached the grass lands where she shook all the wetness off of her bodice. As she looked down the hill, she could see a pack of wolves conversing with each other in the field. She grinned as she padded down the hill, barking her entrance. Immediately, the Alpha came in standing tall. She got down and had her ears flat and her tail underneath showing submission. Suddenly, the Alpha began to bark and bite at her! He told her that he was the boss, obviously he could tell she was still young, and if she wanted to join the pack, she needed to remember that and deliver respect to everyone. She nodded in response as he padded away. So she was in... that was it? Well that was easy! she thought to herself.
The next few days went by, and no one talked to her. She had to fight for her food, and she was treated like an outsider. Which basically that was all she was. A pup started walking to her and she smiled at the young one. The mother immediately ran up and began snarling. Amiya dropped her head and flattened her ears as the mother of the pup took him away. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Then she thought of an idea. It was time to start having a little fun of her own. The next morning, she had taken several of the fuzzy things she found in the marsh and tore them apart. They tasted nasty! As she came up to one of the wolves, she began to put some fuzzies on his face. When she had finished, he looked like a raccoon. She could not help but snicker as she padded away to her usual spot and waited. As others woke up, the victim woke up to try and figure out what was so funny. He walked to a nearby puddle and saw the fuzzies on his face. He shouted and yelled to try to figure out who did this. Amiya just faked sleeping. Because everyone thought she was an outsider, they didn't think that she was the one who did it. The next day, she managed to get some mud on the end of a small stick. Leaning it on a rock, she aimed the stick. Time to get revenge at the angry mom. As she jumped on the end, a ball of mud came flying at her and hit her in the face. Amiya laughed hard as she fell to the ground. Big mistake. The large femme came and attacked snarling and all. Amiya tried to fight back but she was pinned to the ground. Injuries were exchanged to the two of them until finally the Alpha had to come and separate the both of them. "If you wish to even breath the next morning, you will not do that again." he said as he leaned in her face till she was on the ground. Blood had stained her pelt from the bite wounds. The other femme had more. As they walked away, she shrinked into the shrubs to take care of her wounds. Trying hard not to cry, she sniffed occasionally. She could not help being a prankster. She was still young and learning. She was only two for pete's sake. It did not matter. She started contemplating on the possibility she was not yet ready to be in a pack. She had to admit she still had a lot to learn and maybe her experiences here would teach her a few things.
Over the course of the next few days, she began to give respect to all she came across. Including the femme who still hated her guts. Soon, she began to win over the other wolves, be allowed in hunts, and some even started conversing with her. The more she was respectful, the more positive effect came to her. Even the alpha stopped by to say how proud he was at the change. Maybe a little conflict was all she needed. Now that she was in the pack, she could concentrate on more important things. Life. As she lived in the pack for over four months now, she had started making new friends. Especially Killian. He was just like her in many ways. And she became fond of that. A lot of the time she would go over and talk with him. There were even occasions where they went hunting. He had made it seem that all the hardships in the pack were nothing. All in all, she became happy that she had made at least one friend in the pack. Now to see if she could make more.
