Ok today we will be making something simillar to this
user posted image but i wont go into details about the words or as much in the cross hair

first if u want to follow along go here, if u dont find a picture that is very big.Killzonesite and get the wallpapper called M-Fly now open it.

then open a new file and make it sginiture size (Mine is 400x250)
Once u got that drage the killzone picture u got into ur sig. Now dont resize the killzone pic leave it.

Now that the killzone pic is in ur sig make a new layer. Then fill it with black

Nowget the cricle marquee tool and make a perfect circle (hold shift for a perfect circle) and make it so it is in the middle of the sig. Then hit delete

u should have something like this user posted image see how that whne i delete part of the black i can now see some of the KZ(killzone) picture

Now for a cross hair. Do file new and make it size 180x180
Now go to View>Show>Grid , now in the file u opened it should have some lines going through it

Zoom to 200% and grab the pencil tool(go to the brush tool and click the corner and select the pencil tool.) Now set it to a color of your choice , im going with a combo of a blue and teal. Make the size vary from 3 to 1, i used 3 on mine
Just make ur cross hair something like this
user posted image
I used bright colors so it is noticable, though u might want to use something else.

Now place the cross hair layer into ur sig and get rid of the white around it with the Wand tool and set its tolerance to 10 then click the white and hit delete that should do it. This is a lil example of the want tool
user posted image this is what should happen when u click the white area with the wand tool

user posted image
when u hit delete that is the result u should get.

Continuing

Now place the cross hair in the center of the circle (where u can see the KZ pic) or as much as u can

now off to image ready! (u probably could of done most of this in image ready but i find it easier to go from photoshop then to image ready)

This part is much easier all u have to do is Tween to ur delight. Like for starters move the KZ layer to where the cross hair is over the "K" in Killzone then make a new frame and move it across to the "E" in Killzone then go back to the first frame and the the Tween button and set it to about 10 frames

This is the tween button
user posted image

U should get something like this
Note i didnt change the time setting so its all going in 10 frames at 0sec
user posted image

now just keep doing it to ur hearts delight and add more stuff in lwith previous experience!
be creative

edit:yay pixel2life took my tut yay!

Okay, I got to the end and got everything to work, I just cannot for the life of me figure out how to save it in a .gif format, or any other format besides .psd....
ImageReady only gives me the option of .psd.
Could you possibly tell me what I'm doin wrong?

P.S. Great tutorial, ::Thumbs up::

u just type each letter as a layer than when it stops or something make each one appear one frame after another and do the opposite for it to go away, it can be a very meticulous task for the type writer effect if u do each letter individually.

make sure ur saving optimized as in Image Ready also if ur viewing the picture in Photoshop or some view either than imae ready on ur comp it will most likely only show the first frame. That is y u should go to imageshack.com and host it there so u can view it incase u need to make some changes.

All I do to view mine is .. if you have a current or not so old version of windows.. just go to the folder where you saved it and view as 'filmstrip' .. it is still animated when you view it that way biggrin.gif

If you open an animation in 'paint' or photoshop or the like, it won't be animated unless it's in the program that you make animations in ..and get it to be played.
Also with animations you need to add to it or reduce the size, you still need to do it in the animation program you made it in .. ie ImageReady

yea um..i usually open it with microsoft picture and fax viewer or something like that and with any other animated image (that i obviously didnt make) it shows the animation but when i try to view my images that should be animated in the same program it only shows one frame which is the frame that i have selected when i do save optimized as and save it as something...

Thanks,

After reading your initial post zervic, last night I created a sig for my friend.

She likes Elmo so I decided to make him animated. Anyways after saying what I did to you about it working if you just view using windows etc .. my Elmo didn't work !!! Where as my other animation from a previous sig works but the text is the only thing animated. I don't understand it so I just u/l my pic to imageshack to see if it worked lol.

Maybe only animated text works using the way I said.
