I currently have a ResMed VPAP Malibu. When I got it the Dr. said to put in on Bi-Pap mode (spontaneous) as per my sleep study instructions. After several weeks we dumped the machine data and my AHI averaged in the upper 20's. The DME asked me to get a Dr. prescription to change my setting to VSET mode ( range is from 5 to 20) which should give me any pressure that I need for my apneas. My AHI actually went UP using this method (cannot figure out why). So my new Dr. put me back on Bi-Pap 7/11 (spontaneous) mode again. For three weeks my average was about the high teens. I was hopeing to get my AHI under 5 or to zero, but this has not happened. My mask fits well (little leaks) and I am 100% compliant using it 7/8 hours per night. My question is where do I go from here. Has anyone had similar results and what did you do about it. I think my problem might be Central apneas. I have seen on forums that using a VPAP Adapt SV seems to solve those problems. Any advice or insight would be helpful. I want to be able to talk intelligently with my Dr. when I see him again in a month. Thanks for your help.
