lordaiden - March 13, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
Hi,
I am in big trouble right now and need advice. For the last 45 days I cant sleep properly. Sometimes I feel so sleep that I could sleep on desk while I am working in the office. This is not good for me nor for my boss (of course) but I can’t help my self. This is affecting my health and work also. When I go to bed I don’t feel sleepy. In the last when I sleep I get bad dreams. And in the morning I feel that I did not sleep in the night, which makes me drowsier. I need a properly dream free sleep. I m even planning to take sleeping pills. Please help me

Well I feel that you are stressed out. For how long you work… I mean you timing of your job. May be if you are working more you are facing this problem. Don’t go for pills. Have you heard about DermaSleep patch? Try for once caz its drug free. You may get further information at their webstie. I think it’s by same name dermasleep. If you are not aware of using the patches you can discuss with your doctor. But remember that you should be above 21 to use this patch.

Ok I feel exhausted but I just cannot sleep. Started my work again on Thursday and today has not been a good day. Anyone around?

Welcome to Apnea Board, lordaiden.

I'd like to suggest that you make an appointment with a board-certified sleep specialist to help you with your problem.

You can find one here.

Good luck!

Carl

Definately get a sleep study done. If it's just insomnia they can help you out with that. If it's sleep apnea you need to get that treated; if you try to use sleeping pills to sleep and you have sleep apnea it can make disordered breathing while sleeping worse. No bueno.

Hi,

Have a look at this and see if you feel it applies to you.

Insomnia is classed as a sleep disorder brought on by an inability to sleep or the inability to remain asleep for a prolonged period of time. Insomniacs typically complain of being unable to close their eyes for more than a few minutes at a time. Both types of insomnia constitute as a sleep disorder. Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression, Bipolar disorder or sometimes for no apparent reason - it can also be linked to a poor quality or cheap bed. An overactive mind or physical pain may also be causes. Finding the underlying cause of insomnia is usually necessary to cure it.

Insomnia can be a symptom as a well a cause of general difficulties. Like a fever, it suggests something is amiss, but in itself does not indicate what the problem is. In 80% of insomnia cases seen by GPs, the most common cause is a range of psychological problems such as anxiety and depression.
