At a very early age I was diagnosed with a sleep disorder. I've since had a unique sensitivity to the way our culture talks about sleep and sleep disorders. It's almost as if sleep is too useless and meaningless for most people to think about . . . until of course we are diagnosed with a sleep disorder or have trouble with alertness. Then we start talking about and caring about this 1/3 of our lives. Maybe we, as a culture, should care more about sleep? What do you think?
