Title: Walgreens for my DME?
Description: need advice

KB - July 20, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
I have been recently dignosed with SA and am looking for a DME in my area (Milwaukee). I have the choice of these three: Walgreens Homecare, Apria and American Homepatient.

Can anyone on this board give me direction on which DME to use? If you have used any of the above mentioned DMEs give me you thoughts, concerns.

Thank you!

I have had Walgreens Home Health Intiative since I got a CPAP over a year ago and I've had no problems at all with them. They work with me quite well. Their billing statements are kind of goofy and don't show prior balance or what you paid in the past, but they say they are in the process of changing their statements.

Whenever I've had a question or small problem, they've been helpful and courteous.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about Apria from a lot of people on our board. But, your mileage may vary. ;)

Does anyone else have experience with Apria?

By all means, stay away from Apria. The office here is Charlotte was over 25 miles away, they were very impersonal and showed no concern for me as a patient. I had to drive to their location to do anything, when you are exhausted because of your OSA, this is a dangerous undertaking.

See if you have other choices.
