Biker, it really doesn't get any better than that. I have had exactly one night on CPAP where my AHI was under 3.8. And 8.6 cm of pressure is very low. Time to pop the cork on that bottle of champagne, your therapy is a success!

Don't let the numbers make you crazy.

They're useful from a diagnostic standpoint, but the truth is, your own level of alertness is a better indicator of how well you've slept.

The data available from your machine is missing one of the most important numbers, your blood oxygenation level. If you really want to monitor your sleep, a pulse oximeter is a helpful tool. Some CPAP machines will allow you to connect one, otherwise you'll have to get a standalone unit which is more expensive.

Your doctor should be able to write you a scrip for a pulse oximeter, at least for a trial period while you're adjusting to CPAP.

Good luck! Carl
