About 6 months ago I picked up a steady exercise routine where I would jog for 15-30 minutes every morning at 6AM.
I also ditched caffeine so this might be a bit unscientific.
I noticed a dramatic improvement in my apnea after about 1-2 weeks on this routine.
Unfortunately I added caffeine back into my diet (I currently not using any... ) and backed off the aerobics and the apnea eventually came back.
Has anyone noticed any advantages in this area? If so this seems like a superior solution over the CPAP or surgery...

If the exercise resulted in some weight loss, especially fat loss in the lower jaw/neck area, it might have an effect. Likely that the excercise just gave you some more energy and made you feel better so you could sleep better. I think the only way exercise can affect sleep apnea is if it causes you to lose fatty tissue in the throat that was a contributing factor to blocking your airway. While some will argue the point, I believe that obesity is a major contributing factor in developing sleep apnea in the same manner that obesity contributes to activating Type 2 diabetes.
Good luck!
