Title: New to C Pap
Description: Adjustment problems

I have used a mask for two nights and have a couple of questions. I have not noticed any improvement in how I feel. How long should it take before I see results. There appears to me to be a leak in the tubing. I can feel air escaping. Is that normal?

Welcome to Apnea Board, Butch.

Here's a thread you might find useful: CPAP Results

As far as the leaking hose - if the hose itself is leaking air, you do in fact have a leaking hose. If, OTOH, the air seems to be "leaking" from your mask, you may have a bad seal, or perhaps you're confusing the outflow from your rebreathing valve with a "leak".

Good luck with your therapy! Carl

Hi Butch,
I've been on cpap since February. I was disappointed that I didn't notice a difference right away either. It took a week or two before I really noticed much difference at all. It's been a gradual improvement, but I feel so great now. THere have been a couple nights when I thought I could get away with not using the cpap, and wow! That's when I can really tell the difference in how I feel. Hang in there, it should start kicking in soon!
