Title: Fisher Price Construx

After many years of searching I finally located the name, manufacturer and possible purchasing avenues for a building toy I played with when I was younger.

Fisher Price Construx, I think they are much better than legos because you can easily build objects of large size. I think they are great toys and help stimulate design and encourage expression in young people! What a wonderful toy! Search them on Ebay to get an idea of what they look like.

Anyone else play with these? Does anyone know why the product line was discontinued?

Thanks.

Greetings!

I bought a ton of these at a yard sale two summers ago for my son. He rarely plays with them since the power supply doesn't function. I remember them from my childhood, but we didn't have any in our home. I really thought it was neat because you could build structures with moving parts. I have no idea why these were discontinued. It could be any number of reasons. For the most part, I think sales were not where they needed to be to keep the product going. Legos were more affordable.

Yes, I remember construx, but I think they were expensive. Is Konnext (I totally misspelled it!) similar/modern version of that? I think those are expensive too. I guess Legos were more popular, as you could get very small sets for cheap to bigger ones, and they had a greater age range... like the toddler legos work with the regular ones too.

Is this similar to lego technic?
My brother had a digger than ran on air pressure, and we had them at school and would use them in our technology class and built things that moved like cable cars and other things. Ther were fun and educational.
