Title: My Thanksgiving Holiday
Description: the whole story

I had a wonderful 9 days with Nick & his family. He got into town Friday afternoon & planned to stay until Tues. before returning home for work. It turned out that his job was shut down from W-Sat, so Nick stayed in La. til Tues., but he was able to come back to La. for a few more days.
We left early Tues morning & stayed til Thurs. morning in Memphis. We did a minimal amout of Christmas shopping. I knocked a display candle off a shelf & it the holder shattered. I felt SOOOOOOOO bad! I've never had that happen before. I brought it up to pay for it, along with the other 2 we'd picked out for our Moms, and the lady was so nice. She was like, "Oh honey, that happens all the time. But thanks so much for letting me know. Most people would have walked out." I just COULD NOT do that.
After the mall, we just hung out & cooked an early T-day dinner for the 2 of us. It was so nice. God, I missed his cooking LOL. We stayed up playing his vintage NES. I love Super Mario 3! LOL
T-day was bittersweet to begin with because it marked the 13th anniv. of my dad's death. But I was glad to be w/Nick...
On our way home, we had a lil car trouble. My fuel gage started tripping out. We ended up stranded on I-55 S for 2 hours while we waited for Roadside Assistance to bring 2.5gal of gas for us to fill up. I'm so glad I added that feature to my cell LOL
It was supposed to cost $70 being that it was T-day, and we ran dry 20mis short of Jackson, MS, which is about the halfway mark. Luckily, Cingular covers up to $50. After the guy was done, he just let us go, & didn't charge me the extra $20, which made me happy because that filled up my tank LOL
But while we waited for those 2 hours, Nick noticed that I needed more oil. I had some in the trunk. He started filling up on oil & all of a sudden something caught fire. I started crying & freaking out. Nick was like, ""Grab that towel out of my bag!" Luckily, he put it out w/o a problem, but we were worried that it may have burnt up my engine or something. He felt so bad. I think what happened was that the motor was still hot, and he spilled a lil oil, and that burned off, but nothing else because the car is running fine.
We got up Sunday, went to church w/his parents, and packed up our stuff. He headed out at about 10:30am. I stayed until 12:30pm b/c his parents wanted me to have lunch with them. They had BBQ burgers =) Then we visited awhile before I headed home.
I will hopefully see Nick in 3 wks for my graduation on Dec. 17th & his fly's Christmas celebration on the 19th, if he can afford it. If not, his parents are definitely going up there in Jan. before their house starts being built, so I'll see him then. Then it's all up to whenever Nick can take time off to move me up there =D
So, needless to say, my week was EXTREMELY eventful, & I've had lots to be thankful for. =) BTW, thanks for taking the time to read this monster of a post. :P

That sounds like a berry freaky Thanksgiving.
Don't feel bad about what happened to the candle jar shattering, the same thing happened to me at the gift shop I work at. :ha
They had this Christmas plushie that rode on a rocking horse and you press it and it rocks. The plushie was standing on the shelf by the discounted Christmas ornaments. So I pressed the button and when the plushie moved it fell down onto the glass ball Christmas ornament and it shattered. My boss wasn't there so I wrote her a note and wrote that it got broken and the plushies should be moved some place else.
So don't feel berry bad. :blush

Oh, that was sweet of you to write that note & suggest having the ornaments moved. I felt bad right when it happened, but I felt better after the cashier seemed so nice & not phased by it

Melanie, it's no problem. I know that it is quite a read  Sorry about that! :thx so much for the compliment :blush I try to see my glass as half full because things could always be worse. I'm just thankful that we were able to make it back to La. in one piece ^_^

I know what you mean, Mary. This was the first Thanksgivinng that I wasn't home for. It was kinda strange, but I enjoyed it while it lasted, since Nick can't make it down here.
He'll miss my graduation on the 17th and Christmas, but I'll spend the holiday with my family & his. They always have celebrations early to accomodate everyone's work schedules. My mom has to work this Christmas, so we may do our family thing later.
If all goes well, I'll visit Nick on or around New Year's, and then be moved up there with him hopefully no later that early Feb. :hkhappy
