Title: What I did over the weekend...

1u11aby1ambie - November 15, 2005 11:29 AM (GMT)
I went to a gingerbread house making party at my friend's. I ended up staying the weekend because I was helping out at the party and didn't have time to actually work on my house!! LOL

Anyway, here are pics... the theme is CPK and Hello Kitty.

OMG that is Sooooooo cute, Joyce! How many people went? Did everyone make a HK/CPK gingerbread house of their own? I think it would be so much fun to go to a party like that! COOL!!! Thanks for sharing and awesome, awesome job!! :D

OMG. you are soooo talented my icing always drips. my gingerbread houses come out looking like you wanna call extreme home makeover. the first year i got my own place i tried to put one together, it didn't work. so i buy the ready made ones which still come out awful.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! I was the only to do an HK house... about 4 other people did a CPK house. 1 person did a MLP house and it was soooo cute and creative, but it wasn't completely done when I left so I didn't get a pic of it! They all turned out really cute! Someone did a blue/white themed one to go with their Christmas decorations.

And the secret to the icing is to use meringue powder instead of egg whites... the icing turns out stiffer. Also make sure you use clean metal utensils, mixing bowls, etc (grease can ruin the icing & plastic is notorious for holding onto grease!).

 Joyce you amaze every time you make something! I love how perfectly scaled to your cpk miniatures your gingerbread house is. And I think it's berry sweet of you to help out friends at the party. Awesome. Thanks for the tips on the icing because I would really love to put them to use this Christmas.
