Has anyone seen the pics for the new ssc dolls? they are to cute.I've seen pics for 4 of the new ones.They all have long hair raspberry tart has blonde hair instead of pink.I don't collect the new dolls but I think I'll collect these.They are also making a movie for theaters.It's due next year.I can't wait.I'll be first in line with my girls for that.Playmates has taken over the ssc line and so far I think they are doing great.It's about time we see ssc in theaters. :wub: :ssc :bbm I'm so excited :D :D :D

I haven't seen the dolls yet, but I will keep my eyes open for them. My & my fiance's nieces love SSC, so they'd be nice as Christmas gifts. ^_^

The new dolls won't be avalible until jan or feb or so I'm told.Maybe for a birthday present.

I'm getting super excited about the new Playmates SS dolls! Christina (Strawberry Patch Yahoo Group) has been posting weekly images of the new dolls direct from Playmates and AG. I think the cartoon versions are fantastic. Raspberry's hair looks really red to me and Crepe's is pink. So cute! The initial pictures we saw were a bit cuter and had pets, but the latest news is that there will be no pets. At least not this round. I find that really hard to believe because at the Strawberry Patch Convention a couple of years ago, Dave Poultier said that introducing the characters with their pets was very important. <_< Anyway, I did see the doll version of SS on Christina's preview site and I think it's really nice. Much better than Bandai's attempt.

Hey,I thought Bandai had the rights to the new Strawberry Shortcake dolls.Is it now that Playmates will now have the rights to produce the dolls?.

I actually like the fact that playmates has taken over.They seem to want to go far with the line.I do hope they have the pets .

I can't post pics because they are copywrighted and only Christina (as far as I know) had express permission from Playmates and American Greetings to post them, but I can post a link to her site. :D New Playmate Strawberry Shortcake characters These are the cartoon versions that will be on the boxes, but there is an actual prototype of SS image on the Week 6 page. :D

I'm sad they don't have the pets and that they will be changing the size. I'm not sure I'll collect the new dolls, but I think I'll still watch the movies and get stickers and stuff like that. Oh! and if they make mini friend plush pets, I will get those for sure!!! I love those tons!!!

I really thought the new dolls were cute... I'll have to check out that link and see the changes. I thought crepe was cute, cause I loved the pink hair. I like the newer dolls having different colored hair, rather than natural colored hair.

okay, I looked at that link... they're the same pictures I had seen before.... I think they're all great... but nothing will ever be as good as the originals.

:P Can't say I like what they did to SSC herself..They just had to give her make up and make her look like a teeny-boper\brat like...

My favorite thing about the new dolls is their hair! I really hope it's long like SS so it can be played with. I didn't like that about the Bandai dolls...it was all choppy! I mean most of our vintage SS dolls have short hair styles, but they actually are 'styles' and even after 20 years my dolls' hair is still fabulous! I really like that Playmates is introducing more characters...though I still miss Orange Blossom and I never did get a Seaberry or Coco with a pet. :( I want the pets too! And Taigan wants the pets too. Everytime I showed her the new revealed images she'd ask where the pet was!

Now, I love the new look of all of the dolls and I can't wait to get another set to open, but I wanted to show you a close up shot of Crepes Suzette. All of the new characters have the same face...just different eyes, hair and make-up.

Melanie, I now own the same ones you do!!! I love them! although, I don't care for Raspberry's flourescent pink hair! I think her facial features are too light or something... or the hair is too bright. But, I had to get her anyways. I love ssc on the scooter... her hair is so cute! Plus, I've noticed the scent is MUCH MORE stronger than Bandai's renditions!!! and I'm only smelling them through the box! it's great!!! :wub:
