hello all, has anyone ever had their packages picked up from their home and shipped? how does that work and how do you pay for the shipping?

You do it all on-line. You buy your postage on-line and then print it & apply it to your package. (Oh! You'd need to know how much your package weighs, so you'd need like a postal scale or kitchen scale to weigh it yourself. A 5 lb kitchen scale is like $20.) Then you schedule a pick-up for the next day. I believe pick-up is free. When you schedule pick-up, you write where your package is going to be left for them to get it.

thanks, i want to get a shipping scale but don't know what size to get. i know there are 5lb and 10lb. do they go higher than that, i was thinking of a 10lb scale?

I don't know what you'd be shipping? I have a 5 lb scale and most of the stuff I ship is under 5 lbs, but I can get away with weighing the box separately from the rest if I needed to (if it was slightly over that). So, I'd guess that 10 lbs is more than anything I've ever shipped (except when I was moving), so that sounds good.

the post office will give you free plastic stacking scales if you ask for them. :D my post master, Jeanie, ran after me one day and asked me if she'd ever given me a set, that is how I know. :P They are cool and really easy to use, but I think they only go up to about six pounds. It'd be a good place to start though if your budget is tight...or you just like free stuff. :D

yeah cool, my post office is a pain in the A... everytime i ship something its always i have the wrong box or tape, i think they just want me to buy their boxes. they suck
