No matter how many times I read this, it ALWAYS makes me laugh. It's cute & fun, so I thought I'd share, just in case there are any of you who hadn't come across it.

You know you're a kid from the 80's when....

a knot on the side.

off and his cheeks shifted.

27. You took lunch boxes to school... and traded Garbage Pailkids in the
schoolyard.

exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.

65. You had big hair and you knew how to use it.
66. You're still singing shot through the heart in your head, aren't you!!!

PS: I think the only thing I hadn't done was wear a mullet! And I'm still singing "Shot Through the Heart." :ha

'You give looove a bad name'.... lol

Love it.

It's so funny that today I went to a garage sale and actually saw some banana clips in a ziplock and a plush gizmo! LOL!!

Then, I was watching a cheezzzy horror movie, Sleepaway Camp 3 (LOL) and the girl was wearing tight jeans with scrunch socks with her jeans tucked into her socks - Wooosh...it all came back right then and there! LOL!!!

Too funny! Thanks for the post, Shan! :love

Very good post!

How can you not love the 80s?
It's funny how some of the 80s items and trends are making a comeback.
I see them coming back on a fairly daily basis. Some of the 9th grade students were talking about Alf, Pac Man and Donkey Kong the other day.
The worst part, they were BORN in the 90s. They like retro cool. LOL

Thanks for sharing...

LOL Those were the days, eh?! Nothing like rolled up jeans tucked into neon colored socks to make a fashion statement! And I love Gizmo! I miss my plush of him. And you're Berry welcome, Blue. :P

Thanks Croww! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, it's amazing how much of the 80s is thriving like a wild fire *no pun intended there wildfire ;)*. The sad part is that some of my faves aren't returning or at least, aren't as big as they once were. Ah, well... can't have 'em all. Anyway, you're welcome, too. ^_^

I think I remember once when I was in the second or third grade, someone came up to me with a slap bracelet and asked me to hold my wrist out. I asked her "is this going to hurt?"

That's about all I can go on with that.

And Popples! Oh, how I love Popples! And Care Bears, too. Ahhh, memories. :carebear

Oh yes, my sisters & I would play with those slap bracelets like there was no tomorrow. We must have had at least one in every color.

I used to love to watch the Popples, too. I even had Puffball. He was the white one

I just read this list to my boys and we had a laugh. :D They watch (great) 80's movies all of the time, most notably: Goonies, Back to the Future I, II, & III, Gremlins I and II, Ghostbusters, Labyrinth, and the Dark Crystal. :D They are into watching Fresh Prince on TV right now too.

I love the 80's!! I watched I love the 80's in 3-D '83 last night. It was awesome. I actually saw Jaws 3 in 3-D at the theater when I was a kid and it has been the only 3-D movie that I ever thought was really cool. :D

Awe Melanie, that's great that they share your love for 80s movies. How old are they?

So do I! ^_^ But I've never seen a 3-D movie. Watching Jaws that way probably would have scared me to pieces

How funny!

I wore the biker shorts under my skirts! yikes. I even had a pair with lace at the bottom and I felt like Madonna! :P My 1 1/2 yr old daughter Rain loves Fresh Prince! She watches it every night and dances to the theme song. I do still remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Rafael) I still remember the words to the cartoon theme songs too. I also remember the words to Duck Tales! and Oregon Trails!!! ha!!! I didn't know all schools did that! I thought it was just mine. I was huge on LA GEAR... had the shoes with 3 different colored shoelaces, then I'd wear 2 pair of different colored socks to match. LOL my feet were comfortable though!

ok, #32 though??? She-Ra is He-Man's twin sister... yuck! yeah... maybe they should hook up... just not with each other! LOL

Thanks for sharing this list! I could go on and on. fun stuff!
