Title: Cereals From the 80s?
Description: What is your FAVORITE??

Berryblue - October 1, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
So, I remember soooo many different cereals and I probably tried most of them. lol
I really remember some more than others, like the Donuts cereal (or Powdered Donuts cereal), Smurf Berry, Cookie Crisp, all the monster related types (like Boo Berry, Frankenberry, Count Chocula, etc...), and of course, Strawberry Shortcake. I fondly recall the yummy strawberry flavor that the Strawberry Shortcake cereal had. It was probably my all time favorite, other than Golden Grahams.

Of course, there are lots more that I didn't have room to add to the list like:
S'mores
Sugar Smacks
Rainbow Brite cereal
Quisp
Q*bert cereal
Teddy Grahams
Yummy Mummy
Fruit Brute

etc....lol

Oh!!! I had to pick the Strawberry Shortcake cereal too. I STILL remember how much I love it and how after it was discontinued, I tried so hard to find a replacement. (Did I tell you girls already how we'd pick out all the Crunch Berries from Captain Crunch cereal and eat those just by themselves because it was like SSC cereal?) I also like smores cereal, CPK cereal, Cocoa/fruity pebbles, & apple jacks.

I was going to add Apple Jacks. I think we had them from time to time but it wasn't my favorite...nothing like SSC cereal. LOL

That is hilarious that you used to pick out the Crunch Berries! I could see how it would be exactly the same too! You know, I had never pieced it together but I used to LOVE the taste of the Crunch Berries and now I know that it's because I loved the SSC cereal so much that the crunch berries were the same. They must've been made by the same company...General Mills, maybe? That would make sense. My mom would have to buy me SSC cereal because she knew how much I adored her but she barely ever (if at all) bought my Cap 'N Crunch - Crunch Berry cereal always saying that it was "too sugary". LOL As I look back, she did mostly buy non-sugary types, like Cheerios and plain Rice Krispies, but occasionally she'd get me other stuff... like CPK cereal, RBB cereal, Lucky Charms, and Golden Grahams. I'll give her credit, she DID try to stay away from the real sugary kinds, especially those with marshmallows but with the plethera of character driven cereals, like Smurf Berry (which is, if I recall correctly, the same as Crunch Berry or SSC "berries") it just wasn't an easy feat.

:cookie I use to loooove cookie crisp and count chocula!! I still buy Count Chocula to this day!! I hate to admit but my mom use to pick out extra marshmallows in the lucky charms for me. I would have this system of eating it. I would eat all the "meow mix" cereal, than have a whole bowl of marshmallows at the end. :hkhappy Do you guys remember the special version of Captain Crunch called "all berries" a few years back? I jumped on those like I was a little kid and felt like one when I ate them! lol :cheesecake

LOL! I remember the "oops! all berries"!!!! I was like OMG! It's almost Strawberry Shortcake Cereal again (but I think they were the multicolored berries by that time so it wasn't the same?).

OMG I remember the "all berries" cereal too! LOL I love that you call Lucky Charms without marshmallows "Meow Mix" LOL!!! I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at that one!

:grover I can't remember how old I was, but I was pretty young when I started calling it meow mix! LOL I told my mom it looked like meow mix and smelled the same as the cat food. heehee My mom asked me why I was still eating it, and I said 'cause it tasted good. :ssc Glad you enjoyed the laugh
