Not toy related, but who is familiar with the pizza restaurant/arcade chain Chuck E. Cheese's which was founded in May 1977 under the name Pizza Time Theatre by Nolan Bushnell of Pong and Atari fame (now a judge on the USA reality series "Made in the USA")? Even after a mid 1980's merger with one time rival ShowBiz Pizza Place, the pizza chain is still going strong today but its mostly aimed for the toddler-preteen age with a downsized animatronic show and more ticket games rather than the old school 1980's video games.
I sure wish I found film/video footage of the first 1977 Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Players wall portrait animatronic show from the first Pizza Time Theatre location (Winchester Blvd. in San Jose, California) from after it opened in May 1977 that featured Chuck E. Cheese, Jasper T. Jowls, Crusty Cat, Foxy Colleen, Pasqually (who even called out pizza order numbers), and the Warblettes (originally voiced by the R&B group The Pointer Sisters!) or even photos from the first PTT location.
For the record: Other Pizza Time Players who joined the PTT show from 1978-1980's included Dolli Dimples, Sally Sashay, Madame Oink, Harmony Howlette, the Elvis impersonator lion The King, and 2 stars still around in today's Chuck E. Cheese format (along with Jasper T. Jowls and Pasqually joining Chuck E. Cheese): Mr. Munch and Helen Henny. Also: Chuck E. Cheese was originally a rat wearing a derby hat and vest, and since the 1990's Chuck E. Cheese was madeover into a mouse and sported sports style clothes and a baseball cap.
:oscar I remember going to Chuck E. Cheez when I was young. I went to one up north in Illinois in the early 80's when it still had the "rat" instead of the mouse. If memory serves me correctly Pasqually was a man, right? I remember him too. Than I realized that the next time we were going to go in my hometown state Arkansas they had changed it to Showbiz Pizza which stunk!!!!!! :eww
They have since changed it back to Chuck E. Cheese here, but it is not as good as the original! :cheesecake
I remember Chuck E Cheese... went to a few bday parties there.
I went to Chuck E Cheese only once, but I don't remember berry well.
But I have pictures of me with my cousins (Druv and Devika) and my siblings by the Chuck E Cheese mouse in my photo alblum.
The other day I was watching TV and they started playing a 90s commercial for the place. It was where this little boy was playing the piano and the Mom said, play the piano or i'll take you to Chuck E Cheese. The little boy started playing this piece that was impossible for him to play and was faking it.Chuck the mouse was playing drum sticks along the way too.I always thought that commercial was lame even back in the 90s it was lame too.LOL  :ha
