Were there directions for the Sims 2 Home Crafter? I've been using it, but I like to just modify the pre-existing patterns... but it seems to always shrink the image by half every time I open to edit it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Am I supposed to make the patterns on the "template" instead of opening the "working" file and editting that?

Hey, Joyce. :D What program are you using to modify your .bmp? I use psp 6 and when I open a new project, I make it the right size. For example the flooring should be 256x256, or 512x512. Walls should be 256 x 512. I'm emailing you an attachment right now.

I am using PSP 7. Do you use the "clone" button to copy the existing patterns & modify the file from the "working directory" or do you start a new pattern based off the "template.bmp" file? I'm having trouble with "cloning."

Hey, Joyce, did you get it figured out? I did try to mess around with it, but couldn't remember how I had done it previously! Grrrrrr, that was frustrating and I've been on the run constantly it seems since I became employed that I find I run out of time daily. I am taking this day to attempt to get myself organized, plus I'm going to my mom's this weekend, so no work or household duties...but also no internet. My mom's pc does not have a dvd-rom, so I won't be able to mess around with the sims 2 while there either.

I didn't figure out what I was doing "wrong" so I clone the pattern and then resize it 200% in PSP and then "sharpen" it to take out the fuzziness. I guess the annoying thing is if I "edit" anything on an imported pattern, it ends up shrinking it 50% again, so then I can only make new ones & not edit anything.

I wonder if it's something in your settings in your paint program. I messed around with it this weekend, and I didn't have anything similar happen. I am not a pro at paint programs though. Erin might have more insight on something like that.
I'd used only Microsoft picture it! publishing for a great long while, then I had the demo of psp 7 or 8, then I got psp 6 and I've used it since. But, I always have to ask Jon how to do something!
