Title: CPK Dolls that look EXACTLY alike - Is it rare?
Description: 2005 Cabbage Patch Play Along Babies BOY

I am curious what the odds are of finding two 2005 Cabbage Patch Babies Play Along (sold individually) boys that are EXACTLY ALIKE ie; headmolds, coloring, eye color, hair color, hair style, dimples, clothes, accessories - everything except the name and birthdate.

:cpk they say no two are alike, but I saw one in the store that was identical to the one my daughter already has... but with a different outfit. In fact, Megan pointed it out to me and say, "Hey! I thought they weren't supposed to have two that are the same!".... BUT! the one I had was bought in Kansas and shipped to me by Melanie, whereas the one I saw in the store was here in Salt Lake... so it may be harder to find two of the same in your area. Also, their outfits were different, and I really prefer the outfit mine is wearing (the one from Kansas).
Joyce is really the CPK expert... I'd wait till she logs on next and get a second opinion. :smurfywink

I think there are 5-6 outfits, but all the non-paci boys wear the same outfit, so that might be easier. There are 6 headmolds (3 are non-paci), 6(?) eye colors, 4 hair styles (one is bald so you wouldn't have to worry about hair color), maybe 5-6 haircolors. On Caucasians and A/A, there are 2 complexions too & they could be innies or outies, and there are factory differences too (like one factory makes shorter babies). But, boys only come like <1 per case of 6, so it's just harder to find boys (and Asians/hispanics too). The ethnic boys have less variation than caucasians, so I think they'd be easier to find a "twin" for them...
For a Caucasian boy & if we assume all combos are available equally, then the chance would be like 1:20,000-1:40,000. I'm sure it's actually MUCH easier than that for certain combos because I don't think they distribute them equally. But certain ones would definitely be hard to get. I guess if you don't use ebay & you are just looking locally, finding a twin will be nearly impossible. As I said, boys come <1 per case of 6...
I'm looking for an Asian girl and I've seen 5 Asian girls here TOTAL and only 1 asian boy and maybe 6 Caucasian boys... fortunately, I found an Asian girl I liked among those... not the best outfit, but I trade it!

Good question!
I noticed you have also posted this question in "Toychat: Beyond the 80s":
Joyce is our CPK expert, and it looks like she has already left a great feedback concerning this question! (sorry...I tried, but I really don't know as much as Joyce does when it comes to CPKs) I hope her answer helps... in fact, I think maybe your question would get better response in Q & A: Toys Beyond the 80s... so I'm going to move this topic over there, in hopes that you can find the information you need! I want to mention that someone I know succeeded in making for herself a set of identical twin boys. She found a boy that was exactly the same as one she had but with different outfits and birth certificates. She had another baby that had the same birthday as one of those boys, so she switched around birth certificates and got a duplicate outfit for one and make herself twins! So, it's probably easier just to find ones that are alike excluding the outfit & birth certificate and then finding a duplicate birthday/outfit on other babies and switch them to make an identical pair.
