I have this book about Japan that I had since I was little which is called A Journey Through Japan.In one of the pages of the book,you see two Japanese children play video games and this Japanese boy was holding a plushie what seemed to look like a Care Bear.

The Japanese version of the doll had the red Care Bears logo on the butt of the doll (like the US coutnerpart does),but the doll looked like a chipmunk since it had white on the bottom of the face.

I'm thinking that Japan made there own Care Bears series just like Brazil and the Lantino Market did with Strawberry Shortcake.

I even still have the book so I could scan ya the pic of that page one day.
